Giuseppe's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Town of Moravia

I have never ordered here and not have an issue with my order. And not always minor stuff either. Something missing, something wrong like a meatball sandwich with NO sauce, pepperoni roll with No pepperoni, a antipasto salad that was only lettuce and croutons. And the toppings we are charged for never seem to make their way on to our pizza. And when you call about it customer serve is a joke....always an excuse. Never oh we made a mistake let us take care of it. Yet, once again I tried to support locally. Guess what? I ordered 3 things. A calzone, a mushroom roll and a pepperoni roll. Simply unless you want what you actually ordered. Had one wrong one missing. They did offer to make me a mushroom roll. I asked how long? 8 minutes. I agreed. Then this guy jumps in with excuses about how busy they are. I get that. However, the last 10 of 10 times I ordered here same issues every single time. So I calmly (I note calmly because the atmosphere quickly changed) stated I wasn't surprised because this always happens. At which time I was then told rather nasty and loudly that I could always go up the road. And that sounded like the best thing I ever got from this place...an invitation to go someplace else. However, when I took him up on his offer and told him that was a great idea he continued to yell at me about being sorry and that that was what he said first, I'm sorry ma'am. It wasn't though. It was excusses and rudeness and then mad when I took up his suggestion to go up the road. So this is the best place in town to go if what you are looking for is the worst dining experience ever and to be blamed for their mistakes with a side order of excusses and the absolute worse customer service available.

8/19/24 Well my family finally talked me into buying something from here again. I ordered a Italian sub. And because there is always something missing when I ordered here I specifically asked for Italian dressing to be sure I got it. Guess what-no dressing. I don't understand the sandwich in the description states that it has dressing and I said, now this comes with Italian dressing correct!?. Yes I was told but it didn't no dressing. Seriously I don't even know what to say at this point. All these raving reviews.....so I guess it's just us...

Given that there is virtually no real competition for Guisepis Pizza (one rival) it is very surprising that this place has some of the best food of any pizza place I’ve ever visited. And I spent the bulk of my life as a musician in Manhattan and in Boston. I’ve had some great pizza. But it’s not just their pizza that’s fantastic. Their calzone, stromboli, pasta dishes, and subs are outstanding. They make their food the way you would if you were back there unwatched with access to all the toppings and ingredients: piles of fresh, quality ingredients. Not too greasy. Attractive. No short cuts. This in comparison to Subway where each meager serving is pre-weighed and they ignore you as you try to encourage them. “Yeah. Go wild with the pickles! Can ya throw another piece of Swiss on?” But at Guisepis you don’t even have to ask. It’s almost like a sixth sense they have. They see my 6’4”, 245lb frame and they lay on the stuff. And they do it with a sincere friendliness; the sort we all imagine we’d get at a 1960s mom & pop shop. And they have a cooler filled with various types and sizes of drinks. A cool enough satellite radio alternates from Pink Floyd to Billy Joel to Bowie, though this ranges depending on who’s at the register. Speaking of register, they accept credit cards, Apple Pay and cash. There’s no “have a penny” cup but let’s face it, we live in a take a penny world. We don't go to Moravia very much. We've been there twice in the past year, once last and once this year to walk the trails with our dog. Last year just as we were walking back down the trails we ordered an octagon pizza, with some type of wings that I cant remember. When we got there we were given a pizza, I got it all the way to the car when I realized it was just a cheese pizza. I was furious. I went back in to have them make the correct pizza since they thought I only ordered a cheese pizza. The only reason I gave two stars is because the correct pizza was delicious.

This year we went - same thing on the way down the trails we ordered a chicken speedy pizza and boneless garlic parm wings. I got there and made sure the pizza was the correct pizza and it was, but the wings were not boneless… I took the bone in wings because I didn't have the time to have them remake it.

My advice to this business is to make the phone order takers repeat the order back to the customer once the order has been ordered, because they clearly have clogs in their ears or maybe the phone they use is just horrible.
