We were staying at the Country Inn next door and we were looking for a nice place to eat dinner outside. This was it. They setup the outdoor space so that social distancing could be done and it was very comfortable. Our server Nicole was very friendly and gave us some great tips on visiting the area. The food was outstanding. We had the lemon pepper haddock. It was fresh, well cooked, and well seasoned. She asked if we wanted tarter sauce on the side, we both said yes thinking we may or may not use it. It was fantastic! I've never commented on a condiment before, but it turned out to be much more than just tarter sauce. It seemed to have dill and other fresh flavors in it. We asked about it since it was so unique and delicious. It turns out that it was home-made. I wound up using it on my baked potato too. The vegetables were home grown zucchini that were cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The potato had a sort of crispy skin and was excellent. We had asked for a vodka based drink and she made an excellent blueberry drink. The prices were really reasonable, the quality excellent and the service efficient and friendly. We'll be back on our next...
Read moreWe were dumbfounded by the cold and very odd reception we got when we walked into this place just after 9PM on a Saturday. It was basically empty, but we were hungry and ready to get into a few beers. The bartender told us multiple times that the Kitchen was closing soon so we had to get an order in ASAP from their limited bar menu. When we asked what time the kitchen closed, she told us at 10... I guess 45min is how long it takes for them to get food out. We sat down at a table, and got the weirdest vibe from the place. Like we were intruding on someone's private evening. We sat for a while waiting for her to take our order, but ended up leaving before that happened.
I eat out very regularly and I don't think I've ever had an experience like that at a restaurant/bar. Needless to say we walked into town and had a great meal at Charred. I'd highly recommend avoiding this place unless maybe you're a...
Read moreWe have been attending Easter brunch at this venue for a number of years now. It had become our new tradition. Unfortunately that ended today. We were having coffee, waiting on the waitress to come back around to freshen it up. I noticed the hostess buzz by the table a few times. She stared directly at the bill to see if it had been paid I'm assuming. She came back by again staring at the table. We discussed it thinking she was acting like she was anxious for us to leave. We would have then if there had been no empty tables and people were waiting. There were between 10 and 15 tables available so we continued chatting, enjoying our time together. This time when she came over she told us we had 5 minutes to leave because she wanted our table!!! We, of course left. The waitress was apologetic and we said nothing as we left. We will not attend any function...
