Starbucks — Restaurant in Town of New Castle

As a former barista, I have got to say that the staff is superb.They have been here at this location during the thick and thin of the pandemic. Wait, the pandemic is not over so we are still in the thick of it technically cause when we thought it was the end, it was really the beginning. So, I am writing this review to give a big kudos to the staff because I go into the place and do not go through the drive-through so they are always extra busy cause there are customers coming in from both sides. They are always nice and patient with me as I try to figure out my Starbucks app. I have gotten the white chocolate mocca and have been here to study. There are a lot of highschoolers who frequent the place so as you try to work, you are going to hear quotidian gossip, worries, and perceptions of the world from 16 year olds which include topics of who is pretty, whether Instagram or TikTok is better, and what grades they got on their last quiz. The chit chat reflects the character of the upper class and also reflects how mean people in highschool can be but in particular: high school girls. This could prove to be a good distraction or an unnecessary one or it can leave you thinking “Thank God I am done with Highschool.” All of this is part of the experience. Awful. 3/28/23, ordered a simple coffee with 3 caramel swirls and 1 sugar and almond milk. Went to the pickup area and waited, and waited, and waited. After being ignored for about 8 minutes by the 4 workers and watching people that ordered drinks after me getting their drinks, I asked loudly if a coffee for John was coming up. One girl looked around and found my ticket at another printer and said "sorry, I'll take care of it". I watched her put ONE pump of caramel and 1 sugar and very little almond milk. She then handed me the coffee and the lid popped off, Spilling coffee on my hand. This place is awful. The coffee sucked and is about $1 more than dunkin. Watching them make the cold drinks looks so unsanitary. Lucky for them they have a school close by with kids with no limit credit cards from mom and dad 😄I I can't wait for whole foods to get thier...

I visited this store on 8/8/23 and waited a little bit to leave this comment because I needed time to process what happened to me at this place. I walked in and there's a kind staff told me to wait patiently because they were busy. I totally understood.

I waited for at least 5 minutes and no one came to me. That's okay- I know they were busy. However, a White man walked to the counter and tried to order as well. Less than a minute, another staff came to him and took his order "right away." I was shocked because I came first and waited there for a while. I felt very uncomfortable and said to that staff "I believe I was here first." He looked at me and said nothing- continued taking order from this White man. I felt extremely uncomfortable and this was not okay. I decided to leave this store without ordering and will never go back...
