New restaurant opening in New Windsor. My husband and I popped in Wednesday to see if they were open yet. Just so happens, the grand opening is today and they are giving free food to the first 50 customers. Now, on to the review. The owner happened to be there and invited us in to sample anything on the menu for free. YESSS! I had the hard steak tacos with guacamole, chips & salsa and my husband had the steak and shrimp burrito bowl with guacamole. We devoured it! I never eat all my food from that other chain place (you know the one that begins with a "C") but this time, I ate everything. The food was really good; the tacos and chips were obviously made fresh and the portions were generous. The owner and staff was bright, cheerful and very friendly. The environment was clean, which is a must for me. I wish I had taken pics for this review, but by the time I thought of it, I only had a few chips left. A major pro here also is that now New Windsor locals don't have to travel far like we had to when going to that other Mexican grill...you know the one I'm talking about. My only con is that while our food was free, they did provide us a mock receipt--for training purposes. The total bill with tax was $28.11 and that did not include the free drink. Read moreI usually come here and have no problem. Seems like when i go for lunch appose to dinner the entire culture of the store changes when the manager isnt there. We had dined in for dinner tonight and everything was cold as if it came out of the refrigerator and was put together so poorly it looked gross… Might just have to continue to go earlier in the day because the closing staff is horrible. Having something else i noticed while ordering, to when i sat down to eat. Being bilingual its easy to over hear certain conversations and its disappointing to have such rude teens working there belittling other staff members who cannot understand what they’re saying. I dont know who it was at the cashier tonight 2/24/23 but i let her know she was being rude and unccalled for. I hope that management is making sure that its an enjoyable and safe workplace for EVERYONE. While the staff in the physical shop where horrible and disrespectful towards a paying customer and their lack of willing to assist me...I had ordered directly from "your" website, not grubhub or ubereats or any other online site. No amount of great food can fix that. One of my many emails were answered and I was refunded my money by the company that processes their online order payments from their website (levelup). My refund was processed promptly. Thank you. However, due to 2x not receiving my delivery and how the staff treated me when I called, I will not be spending my hard earned money at this establishment any more. Dear other customers.....do not use their personal website to order. I thought I was helping this place by giving more of my money to them and not to other sites. Well don't be fooled.
