My mom and I have been customer's of Sal's Pizzeria since I was six years old. She used to take me in to pick up dinner on a Friday night, we'd say hi to Sal and his lovely wife, who we're always so welcoming and kind, pick up our food and be on our way, satisfied with the service provided. The food was never anything less than excellent and when we placed an order for delivery, it was actually delivered. It always arrived promptly, with all our items, still hot and with a friendly smile- sometimes from Sal himself. Sal's used to be the pizzaria that I judged all other pizza places by. Nothing could compare to the quality or the service. Sal's used to be comfort food. Sal's was the restaurant I recommend to all my friends and none of them were ever sorry they listened. I'm sad to say that I've watched the establishment go downhill since it became Tosco's. It's gotten even worse since Sal passed. On more than one occasion, we've called to place an order and been told that there's no one there that can deliver it- we could place our order on door dash though! On nights we have chosen that option, there have been multiple times that our food has arrived some combination of, cold, missing items, spilled or all three at the same time. Prices have gone through the roof- and that isn't entirely the establishment's fault, there are other factors that play into that- but the quality of food and service provided hasn't risen to compensate for that fact. It's actually been drastically lowered. It's subpar at it's best. I got to know Sal over the years. He watched me grow up. He made it his business to know his customers personally, by name. He always asked about our family whenever we'd call in or stop by. When the establishment was in his hands, there was a warmth there that's been missing for a long time. He created a friendly atmosphere. He worked hard and it showed. He was always so proud of the business that he busted his butt to build. I can't imagine he would be anything less than devastated if he were here today to see what it's become. The inside of the restaurant may look nice, but all the heart and soul is gone. It went with Sal and I wouldn't be surprised if he was rolling over in his grave...
Read moreWhen I was a kid I loved that sal and his wife who owned Sal's . They are very friendly and inviting.I always felt they make there food with love and the freshest ingredients. From all the pizza places around New Windsor NY Sal's wins my vote for best pizza ever made. I love the sauce the cheese they would perfectly put them on evenly on any of your order. I am sad to see Sal's pizzeria giving there place to tosco's pizzeria. I hope tosco's keeps a few of Sal's recipes on there menu . If you do please call it Sal's tradition and under it is a few of there items from there last menu. That would be great to honor them in that way because they told me they where at that location for longer then I was alive. I will miss Sal's but tosco the main thing I like is how you changed the inside but when winter comes please keep the only 2 benches from Sal's !!! Plus Sal's I thank you for always excepting me giving you just change for my meal if I bought anything from you and I hope we were your #1 best neighbors and consistent customers ! Goodbye Sal's I will miss you!! But thank you for all those wonderful and tastes years of Italian food . Goodbye Sal's pizzeria 😥. I would like to give a shout out! Tosco's pizzeria Welcome to the...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible experience. I was on the phone ordering for a total of 17 minutes including being on hold for 8 minutes was given a 30 minute wait time for my order. We had a very simple order only including three items. We live about 5 minutes from Toscos. An hour and a half later our food arrived. The pizza was cold and we were missing one of our three items. I called back because the item we were missing was my main meal. They asked if I’d like to pick up the item. I told them I’d like to have it delivered in a timely fashion as the rest of our order was already here. They come back with an EMPTY pizza box with grease in the bottom!!! As well as our missing item in a paper bag. Not sure what was in the empty pizza box beforehand but very displeased with the service. From the time we placed the order to the time we received all our items was well over 2 hours with a quoted time of 30 minutes. I’m usually not one to complain but this was completely unjustifiably. We will never order from...
