I have never written a Google review, let alone a bad one, yet I’ve also never had a worse experience than that at this Dairy Queen. I have had a gluten allergy for over 15 years, and am well versed in what I can and cannot eat, I also know I can have foods with chance of cross contamination. Every now and then, if I haven’t looked online at an allergen menu, I will ask staff in store, as I did tonight. The female manager in training informed the boy at the register that the blizzard I requested was not gluten free, and then proceeded to say nothing was gluten free at DQ. I have been to many DQ locations and have been accommodated by staff and guided through gluten free options, they even have offered to clean the blizzard machine for me to lessen the chance of cross contamination. Here, I clearly was not given the same common courtesy. Knowing that nothing being gluten free wasn’t the case, I looked up the gluten free menu on DQs website. I then ordered one of the items, after seeing the only allergens were milk and soy. The manager once again told the cashier I could not have it and since I already paid for it, and was sure it was fine after reading each ingredient, I asked for it anyway. Then another employee wrongfully informed me that nothing on the menu was gluten free. I asked about the ice cream itself, which typically anywhere is gluten free, and is advertised as gluten free by Dairy Queen, and once again was turned down. I decided I’d trust my own research and knowledge. As the manager in training was making my blizzard she joked to a coworker that she “hopes I have an allergic reaction.” As a customer, and especially as a former restaurant manager I was immediately disgusted. The audacity of her to make that comment is beyond outrageous, especially when you are so close to customers. To the Dairy Queen staff: you are clearly a lot less quiet than you think. People with allergies should be accommodated and treated kindly, not dismissed and wished to get sick. I’m also well aware that in New York State all food service establishments must be taught about allergens and cross contamination in guidelines with the board of health. It is clear that the staff at this Dairy Queen have failed to have been educated on what my allergen - gluten, is in itself, what products contain it, and most of all how to accommodate a customer with an allergy. I hope that this will serve to better the staff at this Dairy Queen, as I truly have enjoyed many other locations in the...
Read moreIt was awesome. I treated my friend Diane, her son Josh, and his 2 children Elijah and Arianna, and myself to DQ today. They have a Drive thru that you enter from Route 52 West across from Joe's Deli and Pizza. We did not order at the Drive thru. We just parked and went inside where they have booths and tables you can sit at. It is air-conditioned and Rest Rooms are located inside as well. You have to get up and order at the counter. Their chocolate, vanilla & and choc/vanilla twist custard are homemade. The gentleman who waited on us behind the counter was very friendly. The inside was very clean. So were the restrooms. Prices were very affordable. They also sell ice cream cakes. My name is Diane Amundsen your Guide for today. Thank you. DQ is closing on Nov. 14, 2021 for the Winter Season. They usually reopen March of...
Read moreHighly recommend you choose a different location, came to this Dairy Queen because the kids wanted burgers, fries, chicken fingers and ice cream however when I arrived I didn’t see any burgers, chicken fingers, fries or $5 box specials, When I inquired about the menu I was told this location was family owned and not corporate owned and for this reason they can choose what to sell, A huge disappointment, will not be coming back and do not recommend unless your only coming for ice cream and if that’s the case try cold stone, it’s definitely better tasting ice cream, a small caramel sundae cost $3.69 at Dairy Queen and it’s the same one McDonalds gives you for $1.00 Overpriced and highly priced...
