Stewart Airport Diner — Restaurant in Town of Newburgh

Well on day that night I went in and the waitress out right lied to me and said there was no lemon in the tea when I asked for half sweet and half un sweet she gave me liston tea with lemon .I asked her if this was what I asked for she said yes . The spaghetti was so sweat. .. day 2 went back for breakfast now that was good I was happy and talked to the waitress told her it was great. Then told her about the last night. she told me they don't have sweet tea. Now I'm up set again. Went back for Diner and asked for the chicken basket . The waitress was under the weather and never put in my order. Took 1.5 hours. I asked if they dropped the chicken they said yes. We yes was after I threatened to walk out . The waitress kept coughing into her hand and grabbed my cup . Not good I refused to drink it. Well day 3 went in and asked for veggies omelet with ham and cheese. It showed up and my waitress was wonderful. But forgot the ham and cheese. I got up went out to my van and got my own cheese. We I showed the waitress my bag of shredded cheese she was apologizing alot. Well I walked up to the register and the owner looked down and said shoot!!! I said yup three days in a row. . They told me the kitchen. Staff was short I said well then hire taller staff. Other than the bad choices it was good...

Corned beef hash with scrambled eggs on top of the hash with home fries, small OJ, and toast was my order today. It was so tasty I ordered a second plate of hash and eggs. Absolutely delicious.

The diner was clean and everyone was wearing masks and staying socially distant so all was right in the world. They're normally 24 hours here but my waitress said they have to close at 10pm now due to Gov Cuomo's newest mandate as Covid19 spikes back up around the country.

Little bit of truck parking out back so they do appreciate the truckers. Let's give the love back and support a great local business with good people serving tasty meals!

update Corned beef and cabbage special on 12.16.2021 was a generous portion of cabbage with a huge potato and some corned beef atop the cabbage garnished with some peas. I'm not throwing roses at it but I did clean the plate. The show stopper was the split pea soup that came with it (didn't choose the salad for a change). What an amazing staff. My family and I were passing through NY on our way home from a very difficult weekend when our tire popped just before exit 34 on the highway. We managed (barely) to get off the exit and found the diner to park our car. We called our insurance (we didn’t have the correct tools) and waited for someone to come help us. We happily enjoyed some homemade desserts and chatted with our server about our weekend. She gave a friendly presence as well as the rest of the staff in the dining room (smiling through masks of course). The tow company left us stranded for over 2 hours and seeing our distress two of the cooks came and helped us with the change so we could safely head home. We will absolutely be back to enjoy more homemade meals with this crew. You have no idea how much it meant to us to have such kindness and help during such a rough time.
