Pizzabella's — Restaurant in Town of Newstead

Got a flyer in the mail advertising their "Lunch Box" specials. We visit Akron Falls often so figured we'd grab some on the way. We called ahead so it would be ready. We were put on hold for nearly five minutes, so we assumed they were busy. The girl answering the phone seemed confused about the lunch boxes. When asked if they could toast a sandwich, she said "We'll try but I can't guarantee it." When asked what the wrap of the week was, she put us on hold. She then returned and said "It's a turkey wrap, like it says on the menu." (Note: The menu said "Wrap of the week. Ask for details.") After taking the order, she told us it would be at least 30 minutes (for sandwiches!). We told her we would be there in 15 minutes since we were already leaving, and she replied "OK". Pulled up and the staff again were confused about the lunch boxes. The menu has a Buy 2 Get 1 Free special and they all said they had never seen that before. When we finally got to the park and opened our boxes, we were again disappointed. Cheeseburger was overdone and had no ketchup. Italian sandwich forgot the toppings and was something I could have made at home. Chips were not individual bags, but rather fold-over sandwich bags of chips like my mom used to give me 20 years ago. NOT impressed nor happy. I haven’t ordered from Pizzabella in a year because of issues then. Today I had a friend in town and decided to try the salads. (Can’t screw that up). Well. After $24 for two salads we get home and I notice they didn’t put on the gorganzola cheese that is advertised as the cheese for the “Bistro” salad that I ordered. I’m sorry, but the cheese makes the salad and the type of salad. So I call, I said. “They didn’t put cheese on my salad”. I didn’t get an I’m sorry. NOTHING but “ok. Hold on”. I wait 5 minutes on hold. They come back on. “Ok. You can come and get cheese.” I said, “no. I was just there. I’d like it delivered.” “We don’t have a driver.” So I said, “when they get back they can deliver”. So I’m placed on hold AGAIN. For another 4 minutes.” Ok. We can have a driver deliver now.” 15 minutes later it’s dropped off by a very nice delivery guy. Who HE is the only One to apologize. HOWEVER... I walk in and look at the cup of cheese.... it’s BLUE CHEESE. I HATE BLUE CHEESE. So they apparently didn’t have the cheese for the salad and give me a run around .... and still send the wrong. NOT one apology and was made to feel like I was asking to pull teeth... when IT WAS NOT MY MISTAKE. CLEARLY IT WAS THEIR ISSUES. ...

Delicious pizza (the crust is thicker, softer, "airier" than other places I've been in Akron, and the sauce is kind of sweet - I think it's VERY tasty), very good wings (*try Country Sweet at least once - they are my favorite, but my wife calls them "jam wings" because she thinks they're TOO sweet 😂😂😂), and higher than most prices (a pepperoni tray and 30 wings "special" runs you around $60 for pickup). They have a dining room in the back that's pretty decently-sized for a pizza joint (you have to enter it from out back of the building where you park, whereas pick up is done out front if you can find a spot on the street, which is a little confusing at first if you don't know this - there is an alley just to the right of the building that will take you out front to the Main Street & front door if you do park out back, but it's treacherously icy in the winter haha). They also have other menu items (i.e. a soda cooler out front with 2 liter sodas, and sandwich options, salads, etc), but all I've had so far is pizza and wings, which are good enough for me. Give it a try...
