This was our first visit to Alexis Diner as we stopped in for breakfast. They have a wide variety of items to choose from on their menu including many traditional diner dishes. They even have a full bar. For our breakfast, we ordered poached eggs, a hash omelet, and a side of biscuit and gravy. The poached eggs were the best dish as the eggs were cooked well with slightly wet yokes and the hollandaise sauce tasted as it should - not too sweet or lemony. The biscuit and gravy had good flavor but it was lukewarm at best. We would have sent it back to get it warmed but our server didn't come to check on us until later in our meal. The hash omelet was a bit of a disappointment. It seemed like the hash was mixed into the eggs before cooking. I didn't realize that the omelet did not come with cheese which it desperately needed as it was a bit overcooked and was extremely light on the serving of hash. The side potatoes were excellent: well-seasoned, crispy outer edges, and tend potato centers. All-in-all we enjoyed our meal. Add cheese in cheese-less omelets, test the food temp before the server walks away, and definitely get the potatoes. My next visit...meatloaf. You can tell a lot about a restaurant from its meatloaf!

Breakfast for dinner At Alexis Diner We got to the diner around 6:30 and it wasn’t really packed but the seating wasn’t good. The other parties were seated around the corners and sides . We ended up dead smack in the middle behind one of the a larger parties who were kinda loud. Like really loud. Kinda messed up the entire mood. But they left half way through. So it guess it fine after that. The restaurant is always clean and tidy. Waitress was friendly. I ordered Steak, eggs, home fries, and pancakes It was sooo much food I ended up talking some of it home. The pancakes were light and fluffy, steak cooked exactly how I requested. But wasnt dried out. If you’re looking for the classic diner food, this is it. The food is always good here —51ATE

We had planned to go to another restaurant for Fathers Day lunch/dinner, but discovered there was a 1 hour and 15 minute wait. “No thanks” we said. Both my son and I had heard and read good reports about Alexis Diner and decided to give it a try. What a great experience. Nice, clean and pleasant place, inside and out. Although they have a large menu selection, all three of us got the fried chicken dinner. Everything was very good, and the volume of food was enormous. We ended up bringing 4 boxes of food home with us and we were all stuffed! The wait service was prompt and friendly. Prices were reasonable in my opinion. Gray place and certainly recommend it. We will be back.

Where do I begin, the staff... uninformed but chipper. This is a huge difference from a few years ago when we stopped coming. Their wait staff used to be very knowledgeable but so very rude. They would have the menu down to a T but would frequently mix up your order. Then instead of apologizing and fixing it, they would argue with you telling you that it is what you had ordered. I had one waitress, the last time I went several years ago, pull my wife aside in front of customers trying to get her to team up against me so that she could win the debate.... it was disgusting and embarrassing.

So a few weeks ago we went back, for breakfast. Why you may ask? Well we were out that way, wait staff come and go, certain people have attitudes, and its overall not the establishment itself, at least that's the way I see it. So, It was busy, the toast wasnt really toasted, the extra crispy bacon was floppy.... but thats ok. I mean, we find this is typical of most places as if the secret recipe to toast and bacon has been lost to mankind except for the elite few who have passed the tale down generation after generation. The wait staff was friendly, busy, but we got our food fairly quickly and it was a typical diner breakfast... i really have no complaints about it, and we actually had a nice time.

Then a few days ago we were on the bike, and were just passing by, so we decided to stop in again. I got chicken tenders, which were...like something you would get in a paper dish at a gas station under a heat light. That said at least a gas station has dipping sauces available this place didn't give me any, or ask. I asked the waiter is there any sauce that comes with these? And he said "not really we have hot sauce and Tzatziki I think"... so I asked him for the hot sauce thinking it was buffalo wing sauce, they have buffalo chicken salads and stuff... nope, he brought me a bottle of Tabasco.... I said "oh, you guys dont have buffalo wing sauce or anything?" He tells me that he can check then doesn't return for 15 min.... meanwhile I was watching wait staff come in and out of the kitchen, and on the shelf I could see BBQ, Honey Mustard I think.. When our waiter finally returned he says sorry about the wait and hands me a cup of Tabasco sauce....wish I was kidding, they took the same sauce they just brought out and dumped it in a cup.... so I had frozen chicken tenders and Tabasco sauce yummy lol

He also brought out dinner rolls ... they were those cheap, plastic like coated sweet rolls you find in the bag on the bread shelves of Walmart or Sam's Club, warmed up, placed in a bowl as if they were homemade, and they were gross. In fact most of the food I wouldn't even rate as typical diner food at this point we were watching it come out and we were shaking our head. The owner was walking around setting place mats, as usual, chatting with customers but he only really pays attention/talks to returning customers, or someone that maybe somewhat of an area celebrity. He could clearly see we had an issue, he walked by us several times, I even saw him glance at us a few times but he didnt say a word, just went about his business . My wife got baked ziti, I thought it was ok personally, nothing to write home about, but she didnt like it. She said the sauce was very plane almost like tomato paste with cheese she described it. I will say my fries were golden and crispy so there's that, they weren't cut there or anything, but were good.

This is going to sound rude, because it is, you pay for something and you do expect a certain level of quality. Anyone who says the food here is excellent hasn't shopped in the freezer section at the dollar store yet, because that's about the level of food quality that you can expect. The sad part is this place wasnt always like this. It's almost like over time they made one compromise after another in order to make life easier and the quality suffered. I wish I could say better things, this place is clean, the owner seems like a decent guy, I just can't find anything good to say about the food or...

Came here in hope of good food and was hoping for good customer service.. #1 the food was DISGUSTING #2 the waitress we had was SO RUDE! AND THE MANAGER WAS EVEN RUDE WHICH MADE IT EVEN WORSE!! We wanted to tell her what was wrong and she didn't even give us the chance!! She clearly didn't care how we felt which is absolutely ridiculous! My chicken parm, BURNT TO SIN AND MY NOODLES WEREN'T EVEN FULLY COOKED! They were crunchy when they came out!! How disgusting!! My moms turkey was gamey for who knows what reason and my husbands burger.. This is where this visit got worse!! He asked for medium rare and it was so rare he couldn't even eat it! ALSO, another waitress brought his food to another table then to bring it to the back for 5 more minutes (even though they were sat at least 15 minutes AFTER us!!) After the guy at the table said 'I didn't order this' then to have our waitress bring it to us COLD! The waitress herself was rude from the get, rushing us, giving us attitude for no reason!! I asked for a Shirley temple with alcohol and apparently I was speaking French because she gave me attitude again and STILL didn't bring me what I asked for!! She took 10 minutes to bring my mom one soda also!! Then when we told her we couldn't eat the food because it was inedible and that we wanted to speak to the manager the manager didn't even listen to what we wanted to say she basically just kicked us out. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE NOR TELL ANYONE TO GO HERE. My mom's stomach and mine are still feeling messed up after that garbage they...

We got there at about 7:30 in the evening after spending the day in Lake George walking around. The place was very clean and quiet. The hostess immediately took us to our table. This ended up being the only negative of the visit. They were using disposable everything, including paper menus. There were 2 of us having dinner and they only gave us one menu to share. Made it hard to put an order together in a timely manner seeing I had to wait for her to decide on what she wanted. And as most of us guys know, that can take as while...Haha. The wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. My girlfriend ordered the rib eye steak which came with soup, salad, and potatoes of your choice. First off I cant tell you how many times she bragged about how delicious the beef barley soup was. It was like she was eating her first meal in a month. The salad was basic but extremely crisp and fresh. They ribery was huge, cooked and seasoned to perfection. I had the fried scallop sandwich with tuna macaroni salad. It was only priced at 8.99 for the meal. I was quite surprised to get sea scallops on a roll. At that price I was expecting a bunch of small bay, or calico scallops. It was perfectly cooked. The scallops were nice and tender and not little rubber balls. The tuna macaroni salad was good. To me it was a little heavy on celery, and a little light on spices, maybe a little more salt and onion powder. But, otherwise it was very good and I did finish it all. Overall, it was a great visit and we...
