Just off exit 29 and totally worth a stop for rest, food, bathrooms, drinks etc! (A small gas station is across the street also if needed just as an fyi, not a lot out this far in the Adirondacs). Huge giant gravel parking lot with plenty of room for vehicles, large campers, trailers, and I'd say even Tractor Trailers. We visited here while camping, and it was a big hit! The kids kept asking to go back lol! The place was very big and it had some basic camping items, fun kid toys, cute Adirondack and Frontier Town gifts, and even some books. They sell a large selection of cold drinks in coolers along the one wall. Then they have the 3 food counters. One was delicious ice cream, the other was for coffees, tea's, etc. The third was for their food offerings. It was really reasonably priced and soooo good! Fries were thick cut, crispy, and well seasoned. Subs were fresh made to order. Burgers were great, chicken tenders were large, kids meals were generous, and their Halal offerings great!! Gyros including amazingly seasoned meat including chicken and lamb, with the most perfect fluffy and toasty pita used. Staff was friendly and helpful. Self service tables are inside, menus are at the counter to take and look through, then order and pay (card or cash) at the counter then they bring out your order to you at the table you sat down at. I wish I was close by to go have dinner...
Read moreExit 29 off the US87 north (or south). There's a stylized "M" for you know who (what?) on the entry door handle, and I almost drove away when I saw it. But from the outside looking in, there were no clowns with big feet. So I determined this may have been a former franchise, and the door was never replaced. We'll, I'm glad I stayed. They have a family food fare that is varied i.e. pizza, wings, sandwiches of various types. I opted for the Philadelphia Cheesesteak with fries. Gentleman behind the counter, I surmised was the owner, provided a friendly smiling service. While waiting for my meal, the male customer, one table over, told that same gentleman the wings, he and his family of 4 just ate, were by far the best he's ever eaten anywhere (he added he was a fan of wings and always orders them when he's out). My Philly sandwich was fresh and wholesome. But the fries he served were absolutely delicious. Crunchy and big. Those skinny pencil thin fries those franchises serve were not even a close second to what I ate. Everyone that paid their bill on the way out wholeheartedly complimented the owner on what they ate. Of side note, this place also has souvenir knick-knacks and an...
Read moreWe were in the area last month and decided to stop here after getting gas. As soon as I entered the place, the owner graciously greeted me and the cooks came out of the back and asked me how was my morning, etc. WOW!!! What lovely people. The owner was really very nice and was doing his best to help everyone. The atmosphere was so upbeat, soooo welcoming, more than what we're used to where we live. And the food is cooked fresh immediately upon order. And the coffee was fantastic. Then today, a month later, my wife saw that they are having Bollywood Night every Thursday night until the end of November. OMG! She ABSOLUTELY loves Bollywood movies and music and wants so much to go but we're hundreds of miles away. (SRK is her ULTIMATE fave and she sometimes sings me her favorite Bollywood songs.). I hope when we go up next time they'll have such nights again. But no matter what, we'll definitely be visiting Frontier Town Gateway again. Thank you and...
