Monaco's — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

I never make any negative comments on restaurants, but I must say something now. After giving them a few chances, and calling them, letting them know what the issues where Everytime I called. So they can correct the problems. the only thing that they can keep say is sorry.i will speak to the kitchen or the pizza man, and the same issues keep occurring. only tells me one thing that management don't care, lack of training or lost control of staff. And your head chef just plain and simple doesn't know what he is doing. for restaurant that says they are authentic, far from being it. The food was horrendous, ordered Penne ala vodka and got penne with something that taste like tomato sauce and cream, side of meatballs and sausage the meatballs taste like Italian bread crumbs, and burned on the bottom. no taste at all. Sausages were lukewarm, as if they just microwave them for a half a second and through sauce on top of them. Ordered eggplant parmesan dinner and was served 6 half pieces looked like a kids lunch portion. I ordered extra bread for my son..not only we didn't get the bread that comes with the dinner..but the extra bread I am sure I was charged for.. I actually asked if they check the orders as they go out. their response was no. That is the kitchens job, and again got the same responses sorry I will speak to the kitchen about it. Felt inclined to write this review as I usually don’t write reviews. In the past 2 weeks we have ordered twice from this place for delivery, including today. Both times drivers stated they didn’t have any change to break a $20. My wife and I were so annoyed we called them today to complain and at first as my wife was complaining she didn’t realize a driver had picked up the phone. When he stated he was a driver my wife asked to speak to either a manager or an owner he said they were not in today. My wife threatened to drive in and personally speak to a manager or owner if he didn’t put one on the phone and miraculously the owner was available. Spoke to a person by the name of Andy who told us he was an owner. As my wife was complaining about it at first he was very understanding about our complaint. But then at one point he got really defensive. I don’t know if their drivers are doing this cause they really weren’t given change or if they are trying to get a bigger tip but when she stated this to Andy he got upset and started to raise his voice. My wife gave me the phone cause she didn’t want to fight with him. We order about once a week from this place as their pizza is decent. But after this we will not be ordering...

Everyone is entitled to a second chance. Lord knows I have been given more than my fair share. I have to give credit to Victor of Monaco's in Hicksville. After seeing that I was less than satisfied with a recent visit to his restaurant Victor went above and beyond to try to make things right. The class and commitment in which Victor handled this situation was second to none! Not only did he find a way to get in contact with me, he apologized for my experience and promised that if given another shot he would make it up to my family and I. We took him up on his offer, and he did just that. Victor had a pie and a half pan of Alla Vodka delivered to my home, at least 20 minutes away from his restaurant, free of charge. This meal was nothing like the night before. The crust had better consistency, the pie was well made, sauce was amazing and the Alla Vodka itself was tasty. Shout out to Victor for standing by his product and going above the call to be committed to excellent customer service. In this day and age that's not a common thing but kudos to Victor for daring to be different. A man of his word, showed integrity, dinner was great. Thanks Victor we will be back...
