While having our family christmas breakfast today (9 of us) we had the unfortunate experience of seeing how this diner views its veterans, firefighters and elderly. In the back room there is an exit with a handmade "emergency exit only sign" no other diner had used this during our time except one teen looking young man who left until one of the local firefighters opened the door to allow an elderly retired firefighter and veteran to walk through the door versus needing to walk around to get inside. Almost immediatley a waitress came running back to them with one of the biggest attitudes I have heard in a while telling them not to use it and so on. To say it was an unpleasant moment to watch is an understatement. The tone and treatment was over the top and there was no reason that door could not be utilized. First and foremost because if this business truly felt the need to recognize this as an emergency exit they would be following proper protocols (proper signage, clearly visibly from all sides, lit up,etc) and there would not be a table of customers sat infront of it that would block the direct pathway when the table is being utilized. Not only that they should keep in mind the very people they were nasty to this morning are the same ones that they will call when an emergency actually is occuring. When sharing with the manager at the end it was clear the attitude about the situation starts from the top down as rather than an apologetic tone on the situation to the customers who had to hear it first hand during their breakfast we instead got the well we told him before and he should know. I don't care if they told that man 600 times the way they spoke to him especially in front of others was sickening. If that is how they treat someone who served our country, has been a part of keeping the community safe and more they can keep their business because they dont deserve the business. Truly a...
Read moreGrowing up in NY has its benefits and one of them is eating at diners. New York features the best diners in the country... No lie. So my mom, wifey, son, daughter and son in law decided to find a good restaurant for lunch. Undecided and driving around my mom reminded me of a diner we frequently drive by. I said, "ok, let's check it out!" We were greeted by Aileen at the door and seated all together in an extra large booth. The menus given looked like a NY Times best selling novel, packed with all kinds of choices. After a while, I decided to go with a Cajun Burger with cheddar cheese and fries. The others choose chicken parmesan sandwich, chicken wings, chicken breast salad and other goodies I can't remember. Turned out everything was good and no one complained about their meals. A good sign. The service provided was 5 star ⭐ and the price was nothing outrageous for 6 people chowing down. We were coaxed into ordering desserts and they were a little bland for me. Homemade though if that helps. Like I said earlier, NY diners can be a man's best friend and in this case when everyone is undecided as to what to eat, hit a NY diner. You can't go wrong....
Read more3 1/2 stars. The food is ok but not amazing. We used to love going here years ago but something has changed in the kitchen and the quality isn't the same anymore. Its difficult to justify the high prices against the quality. I suggest sticking to the breakfast foods which are always fantastic. The appetizers though, particular the potato skins are disgusting. They are equally burned and not cooked well in the middles at all while also having that sat in the water too long after boiling texture. They use something like kraft slices over them and you can taste the plastic type cheese. Used to love their tuna melts too but those are definitely way different too. For the prices they charge you can find better food at other places in town.
All that being said this place still makes a very tasty breakfast. The pancakes, bacon, and home fries are...
