Took my son and some friends here for his birthday. The place was jam packed and I’m not sure why. The whole place smells like oil. It is very dark and probably by design, so you can’t see how filthy it is. The “chef” we had left much to be desired. Rather than an authentic teppanyaki chef, our cook looked more like a Starbucks barista. Aside from flipping some vegetables at us, he had none of the tricks that makes going to these types of places fun. I asked if he had the traditional bottle that squirts water at the kids - I know that is always part of the show, and he replied that his broke and the owners wouldn’t buy him a new one - huh?!?? He then left for a bit and came back with a squirt bottle that looked like it was pulled out of the trash and then dragged by the back of a garbage truck. It had tape all across the top of it and was filled with a mirky looking substance. (I guess tap water?). I didn’t want to put a damper on things, but once he started squirting it into the kids’ mouths I was cringing. I couldn’t complain about it when I was the one who made the request, but I definitely was not OK with it. As far as food goes it left much to be desired. The noodles were flavorless. We were charged for fried rice for everyone which I know for a fact, not everyone ordered. One child ordered filet mignon and some ordered steak but every thing was cooked together. Needless to say we were charged filet mignon for all which was more expensive. When I questioned the bill our waitress said all the steak is the same price. If you check the menu, you can see that is false. There was a huge mountain of butter on the side of the table which was used abundantly in everything. I got the end serving of vegetables and all I pretty much received was some burnt onion and broccoli. Vegetables were served first so you only had meat and rice in your plate for dinner. The kicker came at the end of the meal. When they were bringing dessert the dirty plates were still on the table. I asked several times for someone to come clean the table and a guy kept showing up with tins asking if anybody had anything to go. No one did, but he did not clean the area. I then asked the waitress if the table could be cleaned as she was trying to serve ice cream over the dirty dishes and she looked confused. The third time the gentleman came over he had a dirty rag and proceeded to swipe all the remains of everyone’s plates onto the hibachi grill. So beware - this is what you are eating off of people! The only nice thing is that they give you a picture at the end of your meal. The kids seemed to have an ok time, but $500 later and I can’t say that this was enjoyable, or a good meal, by any means. This place is dirty to say the least and the food is not good. I will never be back here again. Not sure how they have repeat business or how they have been open all...
Read moreI had the unfortunate opportunity to have dinner here once at this location. I ABSOLUTELY love Hibachi food and was really looking forward to having dinner here especially since so many people rave about it. I decided to host a holiday dinner here for an event and the company I work for. We arrived to the location with a group of 8 ladies. Dinner was going okay until it took us about 20 minutes to get our drinks. In addition, half the night we couldn't find our server and we constantly had to ask the other servers to bring us certain things to the table (napkins, water, a drink). This isn't really the part that bothers me though. I can understand that the place was busy and slammed. When we were first seated I made a notice that a 17% gratuity is added to the bill on parties of 11 or more. I was a bit confused because at the end of the night I realized there was a 17% gratuity added to our bill but our party was nowhere near 11 people. I then asked a server who wasn't our server to point me in the direction of a manager and she specifically said "wait because i'm busy and have to drop these drinks off at a table". I was appalled but waited until I was in contact with a manager. When the manager came over I simply asked what the gratuity policy was. She said "oh, its something we are doing for the holidays. We just haven't gotten around to changing the menus yet..." and she walked away. I was bringing up the issue with the tip because we clearly were having bad service as a table. The manager failed to ask us if our night went okay or not. She just simply seemed uninterested. I now understood why the staff also seemed so easily not bothered by the chaos going on around them. I would also like to make note of a couple things. I had dinner here on the 6th of January of 2014. This is well over the holiday season and if the menu's were supposed to be changed then it seems that Edo's must have missed the mark. In addition, if they never got around to changing the policy on the menu's then when our party booked the reservation, someone should have made this clear to us prior to us being seated or confirmed this factor over the phone. I may sound like all I want to do is complain but I have my reasons. I myself am a waitress at a local bar near the area. And never in my 4 years of being involved in the food service industry have I been seen the treatment that went on here today. The entire night we had dirty napkins, plates, cups laying around our table. It got so bad that we had to start laying plates on the floor around us just so we could make some space for the table. I really normally don't ever like to leave bad reviews but I was appalled as to how we were treated. Especially by management. I never want to step foot in this establishment ever again. It's unfortunate because the food was actually decent but because of the terrible service I...
Read moreTook my husband for bday dinner. Leilani the server came to get orders and ask if there are any bdays. I advised my husband and my son. We gave our orders then waited 25min for chief to come. Soon after the food was served we began eating literally 15min into eating Leilani came over and advised to let her know if we needed to go containers. She then came over again and advised we get ice cream. I asked her directly if we were being kicked out. She giggled took the ice cream orders while we were still eating. She then came back w/ the ice cream! I said you seriously brought me dessert while I am still eating. She said “girl listen” I then asked for the manager. Leilani comes over and ask if we had any birthdays! I told her don’t bother you’re basically kicking us out. I advised the manager we were being rushed out and I didn’t think it was our server but possibly the hostess who is trying to clear the table. Well little did I know Leilani would take it personal. She never came back to the table. She sent the hostess w/ my check and the manager back over to assist. All along I advised the manager I didn’t think it was her fault but apparently the joke was on me. She clearly had an attitude as well as the hostess who gave me the ice grill on the way out. Side note the place was empty considering what it usually looks like in there! There was no need to rush us out! Unfortunate, I will have to find another...
