So my fiance and I went to our favorite Denny's. More than 40 miles away. And we were greeted and sat down. 3 times our server had to be told that we were here table before she came over. We browsed the menu and told our server and I we never did get her name but my fiance ordered a hot chocolate and I ordered a lemonade tea that is in the menu. The server came back with just tea. We told her I ordered the lemonade tea and she came back with lemonade. We showed her on the menu lemonade tea and she said sorry I'm new and didn't know. So you have a new server who isn't even aware of the drink menu?. Anyways we placed our order. Got cheese sticks for a app and those were good because another server brought them out. I ordered the brisket all melt with no pickle and seasoned fries and fiance ordered the thanksgiving dinner. More than 30 minutes later and after seeing our server stuffing her face peaking around the the back wall..yes I noticed our food starts to come out. My fries were burnt and shriveled. Pickles still on the sandwich and cheese wasnt even melted because it was cold. My finances turkey was dry and cold. The Mac and cheese was cold and cheese not even melted. Mashed potatoes was cold to the touch. The stuffing was burnt and cold. She forgot the cranberry sauce and brought it out on a plate not in the bowl. We asked for the manager and she came over and we told her the issues and she asked if we would like anything else. No we just want to leave. How a server or manager can let food come out cold and not appealing at all is unacceptable. The food looks unappealing and cold. Maybe if it wasn't sitting in the pick up window for God only knows how long. This used to be one of our favorite places to go. Doubt we will be returning. Fix this.
Wow update. We get a generic response on here. Denny's is treading terribly. I don't want a automated response. Wow. I guess we are just sheep to them and expect to just accept the fact their location sucks and their management skills are lacking. Well adding another place to list of dying restaurants. Sadly no wonder...
Read moreSince most restaurants in the area were closed on Independence Day, my friend and I settled for Denny's. Underwhelming is my first reaction.
The hostess at the front was nice and seated us quickly, however, didn't want to allow us to sit near the back of the restaurant, instead sitting us near two tables of loud children. An explanation of wanting some peace and quiet should have been enough to seat us where we wanted. The excuse was dirty tables in the back. During our entire stay, nobody went back to clear those tables, in a nearly empty restaurant.
Our waitress was overly prompt, and asked us for our order within a minute of being seated. I asked for a few minutes, in which she obliged.
She came back a few minutes later, and gave our order.
Mind you, the restaurant was not busy, and the order seemed to be taking forever to get. A bourbon cheeseburger with fries, an Impossible Burger with onion rings. About one half hour later, the food came out.
Issues with the food:
Food was incredibly cold. Even the burger was coldish in the center. Rolls were dry and crumbly, to the point of disintegrating in front of our eyes. The fried onions were typical of lukewarm topping that have been sitting on a steam table all day; grease logged. Even the cheese didn't want to melt on the burger.
The waitress was barely seen, however, did apologize for the lengthy wait between her third and fourth visit to the table. Credit given for acknowledging the delay in checking in on us.
Entire order was over $30, +tx and tip.
In retrospect, I wish I'd had either the cook or the manager over to the table to witness the plates, firsthand.
Also to note: staff spent less time with customers overall. Personally, I'd really like to at least like this place as a viable option to eat at. With this being in a Flying J's truck stop, I'd think the food would have been top-notch.
Not happy to recommend. Strongly encourage...
Read moreI have been here about five times.
🕺💃 The staff is pretty friendly and mindful, usually when they've forgot something, they remember and bring it to me without me having to ask again.
🚽🚻The bathrooms are spacious, smell ok, and are well maintained.
🕥 ⏳I think the best time to go is either early morning or night, if you go at night you will have to wait a bit for service, since there's only one or two servers on. I've gone in the afternoon twice before and it's been too crowded for me, so much noise and clattering of dishes, the staff seem really overwhelmed in the afternoons.
🍳🥚The breakfast food and wraps are really good. Personally, I like to build my own grand slam, I think this Denny's does their eggs best over medium. Their scrambled eggs come in a big (kind of) wet egg and cheese clump. If you like your scrambled eggs like that then great, you'll love this, but if you're looking for traditional scrambled eggs then this isn't the menu item for you.
☕🥞As one might expect, their coffee brew is good, and simple. There's something so nostalgic about diner coffee isn't there? Their hashbrowns, are usually, the perfect combination of crispy and soft. The pancakes and waffles are so versatile, and always fabulous, you...
