We've been coming here for YEARS, (since well before the recent ownership/name change--Tried another Steve's location in the past and the quality and service just wasn't the same). Same great food & service they've always had here though! They have the absolute BEST GF/V/Healthy options of ANY diner we've been to--in Rochester and BEYOND, even compared to other cities/states! (GF Toast, wraps, waffles, pancakes, french toast, etc) They have something for everyone and are happy to accommodate food restrictions/allergies where they can. My personal favorites (*not all are GF/V): Their HUGE variety of pancakes & waffles, fresh fruit, roast turkey dinner, (they have hands-down the BEST chicken gyros in town FYI)!, the SW chipolte chicken sandwich, the tuna melt and patty melt are good, my husband loves their dumpster plate, and my kids love the giant M&M pancakes & GF toast (they actually fight over them)! Unlike other places, they use REAL marinated grilled chicken too--not the spongey, cheap, chewy, fatty breasts or strips other places try to pawn off on you. *Being very popular, there can often be a wait at peak times/weekends, so if you're in a rush, try to get there early (before/around 9am). All things considered, it's pretty efficient though--you can wait in your car or outside and they'll buzz you when they're ready! (Sometimes we'll grab a shake a few doors down while we're waiting or hang in the gazebo if it's nice out). š And for those complaining about their cash discount--which is perfectly legal BTW--you obviously don't understand how business works and the harsh fees placed on vendors (and servers) for customers using credit cards. Would you rather they raised their prices across the board or cut corners on food quality to compensate instead? As a cash carrying family, we appreciate it and don't get bent out of shape over paying an extra dollar if we don't happen to have cash--which is rare. (Their prices are also pretty competitive--especially given the quality and selection provided. Besides, there are some other longstanding local diners in the area that are CASH ONLY--at least you have the option to use a card here). If you're complaining about $1 then you probably can't afford to tip or eat out anyways and I'm sure McDonalds would be happy for your patronage. š¤·āāļø (And I'm very surprised to see that the demographic complaining about the cash discount is older and yet oblivious to the larger scale issues of a cashless society...š©) We LOVE The Great American Diner (former Steve's Fairport) and appreciate their presence in our community--especially as a family who has restrictive dietary needs. We can't often eat out with our children if there isn't an AIP friendly menu, so we're most grateful for those options. The friendly and hospitable staff, clean & welcoming environment, prompt service, and reasonable prices are just the icing on the cake that keeps us coming back week after week. I know the owner gives back a lot to the community, so I hope in turn, the community continues to support this great local...

I must give a special shoutout to their specialty brunch selection. The pancakes were light and fluffy, and the omelets were packed with the freshest ingredients. And let's not forget about their signature milkshakes ā they were absolute works of art, both in presentation and taste.
What sets this diner apart from the rest is their attention to detail and commitment to quality. Every dish that arrived at our table was beautifully plated and bursting with flavor. It was clear that the chefs had put their heart and soul into each creation.
Beyond the outstanding food and service, the ambiance of the diner was superb. The retro-inspired decor, with its vibrant colors and nostalgic memorabilia, created a cozy and inviting atmosphere that transported me back to the good old days of classic American diners.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot impressed.. If you look on their website at prices please know it has not been updated! Everything is more expensive than is what is listed on their online menu. Their menu once you arrive is also very misleading. "Upcharges" are not listed so be very careful what you add on to your order. My husband got "The Dumpster" (which is listed as $10.00 online yet is really $13.00). If you get this dish the server will ask you what kind of cheese you want without telling you cheese is not included. Cheese is $1.50 extra!. Like really? Lol. I can get a whole pack of American cheese at the store for about $1.50. I ordered the gluten free "love cake" for $7.95 and added strawberries. Once again was not told it was extra.. Yet they offer blueberry pancakes for $7.95 and the blueberries aren't extra for that one?. They are also too into getting their customers in and out as quick as possible. I normally wouldn't complain about fast service but this place is a little TOO serious about it!. I was trying to ask questions to find out information since nothing is really specified on their menu.. and every time I tried to ask a question I got told "hold on I gotta go put this other tables order in" and she walked away. I felt like I had to order without fully knowing what I was getting. I am definitely not impressed. When I question how everything was an extra charge I got told "oh everything you add on is extra". Really? Well then maybe you should list that on your menu. We...
