Amore Pizza — Restaurant in Town of Queensbury

When I walked in the place it is very clean. The employees responsive and nice. The pizza is okay and that's a shame! This is why. They have a very good sauce! My problem is with the pizza crust. When it cools down it becomes hard and very chewy. They're doing something wrong with their dough. I can't place my finger on it, it can be a number of things. It could be the wrong flour but more than likely too much gluten development in the dough! Which can be caused by over-kneading, using too much flour, or not letting the dough rest enough, leading to a dough that is too tight and loses moisture quickly as it cools, resulting in a hard, chewy texture. If they correct what's wrong with the dough / pizza crust. This place would be a five!

I had the chef Salad and they substituted chicken for ham because I’m not a big ham fan which was very nice as you can see there are many ingredients to their Chef salad, sliced boiled egg turkey chicken lots of yummy cheese croutons etc with your choice of dressing on the side , so so good 😊 and I also ordered a pie for later , it was perfectly done and so delicious as well , on top of all that goodness the service was so friendly, everyone there was friendly from the person taking your order, the chef behind the glass wall and even the owner were all very friendly. I have had regular pizza from Amore probably about 12 times. The regular thin crust pizza was good to very good. Today we ordered the Sicilian and that was outstanding. Ordered the pizza with green peppers and sausage. The crust was thicker than a regular pizza, but it was crispy, flavorful and easy to eat. The toppings were generous and very tasty. I would have to rate this pizza excellent. I doubt if too many establishments could come to what I consumed today. Excellent job staff for the food and service!!
