The Tavern — Restaurant in Town of Queensbury

Let’s begin with the fact that we entered into an almost empty bar. I’ll be liberal and say 12 people at most. We walked in without being greeted, waited 23 mins just for our drink order to be taken! The server apologized, I do believe that it’s managements lack of training which lead to this review. After placing our food order it was another at least 35-40 mins to get our food, which was mostly burnt or just had a fowl taste to it. My wings were borderline not even edible, very greasy with absolutely no flavor at all. Overall it took 3 hours to to be seated, get drinks, and to be served food. I ordered French Onion soup. Unfortunately, it was way too salty. I'm not sure if it was just the cheese on the top or combined with the broth. I ate the cheese and a little of the broth. It still was too much. The rest of my food came out very quickly so there wasn't time to do anything about this. Later, when paying for my check, I mentioned the situation with the soup to the server. I was not looking to get a rebate or to not pay for the soup. I just wanted to let the kitchen know about it so they would not continue to serve it as it was. I was not charged for the soup. We were seated quickly. The restaurant was busy, but not packed. The wait staff was frenzied and tripping over one another. We waited a long time to be acknowledged and when someone did come to take our order, they turned and walked away before we could say anything. After we finally ordered only two of us were served and they had to make the order for the 3rd person in our party. (We were all on the same check) The food was mediocre at best. Eggs were ok.
