Steph’s Place — Restaurant in Town of Richland

I was taking the track team from Syracuse to Pulaski for a match. I googled places to eat and chose Steph's Place as it was close and had space to park a bus. It was great from start to finish! The hostess/waitress/server was awesome. I ordered the middle size cheese burger because I knew the normal size would be too much with a side of mac salad. The burger was cooked as I requested but still could only eat half...fresh tomato and onion on it! The mac salad was great! Needless to say I had a snack when I got back to Syracuse. Now having said all that another thing that truly impressed me was that anyone can order off the children's menu! That is really good for me because of health issues I cannot consume much in one setting. I would rather order a smaller meal and tip on the cost of the larger meal! We waited almost an hour for our food. in that time our waitress did not give us refills and wasn't friendly, she didn't even check on us our entire visit. A younger blonde woman who looked very busy actually handled our refills and our bill after seeing our waitress pass over us multiple times. She was awesome! Once the food arrived a lot was wrong. My grilled cheese had a brown spot on that im assuming was chocolate. I also found two hairs on my sandwich and my brother found a hair in his tuna sandwich as well. My dad ordered hash browns but was given home fries. My husband's hash browns were so undercooked that some of them were ice cold! We were also all frustrated that we didn't have a single refill until the end of our meal. I will say that the gentleman bussing tables was also very courteous and the bathroom was nice. After 2 days of trying to get takeout and 2 bad experiences googled food near me and stephs place came up. Hubby and myself don't eat out hardly ever due to Hubby's diet restrictions. Hubby has cheat day every 10 days or so. Hubby had cheeseburger with Swiss mushrooms and I had The big beef Swiss mushroom burger. Bowl of soup of day. Food was excellent burger was cook medium well just like I like it. Hubby was happy and full for first time in three days. Great price and food portions great. Will definitely be going back.
