I was looking to get on a phone plan, and decided to stop in after checking out the pricing at the Verizon website.
I told the lady at the desk I was looking to get the basic unlimited plan on a family line; mind you, I'd already looked online, and seen it was $40 a line. Without asking how many lines I wanted, or anything else, the woman said it would be $200 a month. Since I'd already looked on line, and gotten a general quote of about $140, I was a bit surprised. So I told her I only needed three lines, just the basic unlimited welcome plan, I didn't need hot spots or anything.
She repeated that it was $200, and that she'd just set it up for another family that was in the store. Now, I don't know how many of them actually got lines, but it was a five person family. So I repeated that I only needed three lines. She just kind of looked at me. No other explanations, no other conversation, just sort of looked at me.
So I told her I would look elsewhere, and left, but like... I don't know if she works on commission, or if the online site is lying. I didn't even get to talk to her about new phones or anything else, because she was just so intent on that $200 a month price and that was it, like unless I agreed to that price right then, I wasn't worth her time.
Which is a shame, because I was ready to sign a contract and get new...

Had to call the “hotline” which was no help. Then proceeded to try and sell me an Apple Watch telling me “oh it’s the same as the Gizmo and will only cost you $199 with my “discount”. Knowing he was lying I politely declined and went elsewhere. So I figured I would give them another chance. Brought my sons new phone in to get some help setting it up and transferring his info from his old phone. His old phone has a cracked screen so I can’t see what I’m doing in the old phone to transfer the info. First girl is almost annoyed bc the screen is cracked saying “ ummm the phone won’t even unlock bc the screen cracked ( my 11 year old took the phone from the “tech” and unlocked it ). Then the second girl comes in and says “it’s gonna be a $33 fee to set your phone up”…you know bc it’s their time…an hourly employee. I so dreaded doing it because it seems to take forever and a day to get through the process at the Verizon store, muchless learning to navigate a new phone...UGH!! The Verizon Pulaski, NY store made my process very seamless...thanks to Talon! What an amazing employee, so well spoken, very communicative, and alert to my needs. It actually changed my thoughts about Verizon stores, especially after trying the Watertown, NY store which was nothing but a bunch of rude and insensitive employees not recognizing the needs of it's customers... and some of us have been paying that Verizon bill for a very long time!
