Bellevue Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Rotterdam

This place has really good soup! I sometimes make the 30 minute drive from home just to pick up takeout. My last experience trying to place an order was a little off-putting to say the least. Around 10:45 am I called and asked if I could place an order for lunch. Of course I could! I ordered lunch specials off the online menu. About 5 mins later the person who took my order called me back to say they couldn’t put an order in for lunch until after 11:00. I said that’s ok, I can wait. Then there was s a voice in the background yelling that they don’t even know what the lunch specials are yet, that they can’t even do the order, and where did I see said specials anyway?... I told the person who took the order that it was posted on their website. She apologized and said it hadn’t been updated. So I told them I would call back, but after thinking it over, I decided to get lunch at a different cafe. Later on for kicks, I looked back at the online menu to see if the items I had asked for were listed as specials. BAM there they were! So they definitely could’ve taken my order. Also, when I’ve done takeout lunch specials in the past, I’ve been able to pick whatever dessert I wanted to go with it. This time my choice was rice pudding or jello. Ultimately I probably won’t bother again. The soup is good, but I’m a busy person. I don’t have time to mess around...

I've been going to the Broadway Cafe for years. Great food, great prices, wonderful owners and staff. That said, I will no longer eat there and will tell everyone I know to go to Broadway lunch instead. I ordered hotdogs with meat sauce. I'm not sure what kind of meat it was. And it used to be delicious. Now, it's terrible. I used to love the macaroni salad. When I took a bite all I tasted was sugar. Sugar. In macaroni salad. I realized they had switched from mayo to "salad dressing". I threw everything out and had to make dinner anyways. I realize the cost of food is high, and your fancy addition cost money to pay for. I would look elsewhere to cut expenses however, because your good food is why you needed that fancy addition. I was there Friday night at dinner time and the parking lot was nearly empty. I will never go there against. I'll go a few blocks out of my way to Broadway lunch and but real Greek hotdogs. And macaroni salad that doesn't taste...

I went there with my mother and my daughter for lunch today and needless to say , I won’t be back. Our waitress was rude and unfriendly. She seemed very irritated and short tempered when she was asked questions about the menu. Our food was mediocre at best and certainly not hot. I couldn’t even eat my chicken sandwich due to how stringy and tough the chicken was. My daughter and my mother were also not impressed with their sandwiches. Our waitress never came back to the table to see how our meals were because if she did , I would’ve told her it was inedible. When she finally came to ask if we wanted our dessert , which came with the lunch , she could plainly see my meal was sitting there barley touched. She asked if I wanted to take it home and I declined. At that point , what did it matter to tell her. She then , due to it being “tip time” , added some endearments , softened her demeanor and told us to have a nice day. I will...
