There were 4 tables open when the two of us arrived. Older waitress (hair up on head, wore glasses) said to take a seat, then added, " There's a 2-seater behind the register." There were 3 other tables open, two 6-seaters and a table for 4. We chose the table for 4, at which point she rolled her eyes, shook her head, grabbed a rag and came over to the table. We didn't know the table had to be wiped down. Everyone saw her roll her eyes, so we got up and sat behind the register. I didn't feel like being mistreated throughout my meal, but we should have just left. It's very small and so cold by that window. After we moved, another couple came in and they were offered the table we first chose, followed by yet another couple who sat at a table for 6--so, clearly, her rolling her eyes wasn't because they were expecting a mad lunch dash of larger groups, but because she had to wipe the table (which she had to do right after that anyway!!) Just last week, we were served by a young man (an owner, perhaps this was his mother) - I told him how much we liked their restaurant, the food was delicious, good prices, very clean and excellent service. For him, this still holds true - for the woman who waited on us today, she needs a serious attitude adjustment. In this economy, having a steady stream of customers matters. I much prefer to give my money to people who treat me nicely. I hope she reads this and really stops and thinks about her body language. It's really much easier to...
Read moreAbsolutely the best restaurant in St Germain. We spend a few weeks a year in St Germain and lots of weekends. This is always our go to place. Everything is excellent, the food, the service, and I highly highly recommend the eggs Benedict. My gosh, I get eggs Benedict for breakfast no matter where we go, and theirs never fails to blow everyone else’s out of the park. Everything is always very consistent from year to year, and that’s key. Pro tip, ask for your Benedict to be put directly on top of your hash browns. You may wait a bit, but by the time you go to another restaurant, and wait there, you will have been seated at DJs. And Let’s be honest, wouldn’t you rather go to a place that is busy, rather than one with nobody there? Always being busy says a lot about a restaurant, that’s a good thing. Love it so much I buy my family members gift certificates for when they are in the north woods. DJ is the best owner you will ever meet. Always kind, always funny, and very good at keeping you smiling. Absolute best place ever. I wish I could give it more stars, we can’t wait...

We were there TWICE on our Up North camping trip this year. Food is as delicious as ever. Staff and service are as pleasant as ever. We are only there once or maybe twice a year but the owner and a couple of the servers always remember us. I wish I would have taken a photo of my eggs Benedict- they were that picture perfect. The Hollandaise was heavenly. And the potato pancakes really are just like Mom's.
They are always busy even more so at peak times but they are so crazy efficient even while joking around with customers that wait times are never excessive. In all the years we have been coming here we have never waited more than 20 to 30 minutes. Additionally it is a good time to kick back, watch people, and visit with the...
