Pine Knot Tavern — Restaurant in Town of Saint Germain

The owner, Jen, has set the stage beautifully with a welcoming and warm dining area. I like that the dining area is separate than the bar. When there make sure to ask Jen about what kind of wood they used to make the tables! (Hint: it’s crazy unique!) The menu some may say is small but I think that is smart and leaves Jen the opportunity to bring in different and fun specials. Loved that there was a wine and beer menu. As for the food I thought there was a nice mix of regular items mixed with unique dishes. Included in this mix was multiple vegetarian options. You can tell that Jen used her passion for food and family while making this menu - another talking point to strike up a convo with the owner! The Beet and Goat Cheese Salad with Italian Sausage is by far my favorite salad for miles around! The house chips were flavorful and crisp. The wild burger was juicy and seasoned perfectly. Jim at the Pine Knot Tavern is hands down one of the best bartenders around! He’s friendly, attentive, and always makes everyone feel welcome the second they walk in. Whether you’re a regular or just stopping by for the first time, Jim takes great care of you and keeps the drinks coming with a smile.

And you can’t beat their Friday baked haddock — perfectly seasoned, flaky, and cooked to perfection every time. It’s clear the Pine Knot takes pride in their food and service, and Jim really adds to that great local atmosphere.

We visited Pine Knot twice in the same week over the Fourth of July, it's a place worth coming back to. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is welcoming for both adults and kids.

The food was fresh and flavorful, and everything we tried was excellent. We especially appreciated the unique menu, much more than the typical deep-fried options you often find in the Northwoods and very fresh and flavorful. The cocktails were also well-crafted and delicious.
