Pub N Prime Supper Club — Restaurant in Town of Saint Germain

We have wanted to eat here every time we visit the area. We had a party of 10, so we called ahead a little over a week in advance. We were asked what time we wanted to come, we said 6:45, and they thanked us for giving them a heads up and took our name down. We arrived on time and when we went to check in, we were told by the hostess that they don’t take reservations, and the wait was about 3 hours. I asked how that’s possible when they had told us we had a reservation. The hostess blamed it on the bartender, said she probably took the call. We asked the hostess if there was anything she could do and she said no. Affirmatively. Zero remorse. The bartender who we had spoke to for the reservation remembered speaking to me but then said that they don’t take reservations and that it’s more or less just to get you on the list….except we weren’t on the list! You get put in the list once you get there (huh?). Zero logic.

Here’s the thing… fine if you don’t take reservations, but don’t take my name down on the phone. Just say outright that you don’t take reservations, period. I would have never wrote this review if either lady had offered any type of empathy, and some type of apology. Nothing. Just looked at us, angry-faced like we were the crazies. Just be kind. Just say sorry. They could have said,“Im really sorry someone told you that, we sincerely appreciate your patience, we will add you to the list.” I get food service is overwhelmed and understaffed, but just simply say you don’t take reservations…would have made it very...

Stopped with a large group. Hostess more than accommodating. When most places would've been annoyed they were very welcoming.

Bellied up to the bar to start. Didn't get fresh cheese trays but existing customers were willing to share and friendly. No complaints.

Most of us ordered brandy old fashioneds. I've seen previous reviews they're "stout". No argument there but stout doesn't mean quality. Was a mix plus brandy. No muddling, strong and cringe worthy.

Prime rib? I ordered the $64 20oz, it tasted awful. For medium rare came out brown drenched in juice and tasted really "funny." Ordered grilled onions on the side. They came out boiled and still crunchy from rawness. Worst prime rib I've ever had and I never complain about food. (Check my Google review record) My friend ordered the exact same thing. Her's was pink and beautiful and tasted okay. ..

Before owner jumps in, the waitress said mine came out earlier and my friends was "fresh." Either way it was disgusting. Restaurant first offered a free drink and a new prime rib. I barely ate it and just wanted a refund. After further discussion they took it off the check.

Attached is a pic of my friends medium rare filet mignon. He said it tasted like shoe leather. I believe it because it certainly looked like it.

I'll never eat here again and their old fashioneds belong in Illinois.

We were visiting the North Woods and wanted to enjoy a typical Friday night fish fry. Or course there are many places to choose from, we opted for Pub N Prime since they have a salad bar available. We arrived early and were seated immediately. The hostess was very kind and personable and made sure we were comfortable. Our server was prompt and took our drink order as we decided what exactly we were going to order. Three of us order the fish fry and one opted for the breasted chicken. We were then given our salad plates and were told the soup selections for the day (New England clam chowder and chicken enchilada) Both soups were DELICIOUS! The salad bar was well stocked and fresh. We enjoyed our soups and salad with plenty of time prior to our food arriving. When our main meals arrived, they were presented well and very hot. The fish (Cod) was very crispy and well prepared. Two of us had loaded baked potatoes and two with fries. Bothe were very good. The server was exceptional making sure we had everything we needed. After we finished, the hostess came by asking how our meal was. A nice touch these days. Although we did not order the Prime Rib, many orders came past our table and it looked delicious. We were presented the check along with some after dinner mint chocolates. It was a very nice experience and would recommend Pub N Prime to anyone looking for that good old fashioned Wisconsin Supper...
