Pancakes & Burgers — Restaurant in Town of Saratoga

We just recently moved here and this has become one of our favorite spots. That was at least until today. I’d like to start by saying the food is almost always wonderful and the staff great. Until today. My family and I decided to go have lunch there as we have done the last 3 Saturday’s in a row. Saturday is the one day during the week when my family and I can sit down together and enjoy a meal together a week due to work and school . Usually we do breakfast but today we had a lot of stuff to do so we got lunch instead . I ordered the special and asked to sun mashed potatoes for French fries , gravy on the side. My food didn’t arrive as I ordered it. My waitress offered to fix it but seeing as my family already had their food I declined. My family was already eating and halfway done with their food. So I sat there. Not eating it because by the time this waitress would have brought it the rest would be cold. I didn’t complain to the waitress or a manager. I just mentioned to my husband I was miffed at having to pay full price for a meal I wasn’t going to eat. All of a sudden she comes back with the part of the order that I declined. I told her she should not have done that because I was not going to eat it. As she’s walking away she says “ I don’t see what the problem is , it’s the same meal “ loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear. I’ve never been treated like that at a restaurant in my entire life. She boxed up the food brings it back and said in the most condescending tone I have ever heard “ Here you go , sorry I ruined your day “ by this time I was furious and replied “ you didn’t ruin my day just my lunch “. Then I hear her ( from across the restaurant) complaining to her little waitress friends about me and that I had the audacity to be upset with my experience. I’ve been a server and done customer service all of my life . I did not complain to her or the staff. The only person I told I was upset was my husband so it’s not like I was causing a scene. I expressed to my husband that it was extremely rude of her to complain about me within earshot. I was so upset I left the food there. I ended up paying $40 for a bowl of chilli , ( husbands order ) and chicken strips and fries ( our daughters order ) Misty’s Menu I love your establishment , the food is almost always wonderful. The staff is usually upbeat and accommodating. But I was appalled at the lack of customer service today and the fact that her disgusting behavior was tolerated . To the lady who was my server ( red hair , floral printed dress , lots of tattoos ) you need lessons in customer service. Your behavior should not be tolerated at all. I have enjoyed Misty's Menu over the years and wanted to try it after the ownership changed hands. Let me tell you, everything is just as excellent as it was- the food, the service, (is actually even better now!), and it is always clean and inviting. I have enjoyed it 4 times now in the last 4 months. The pancakes pictured here are my sons- they are dinner plate sized and perfect! I love the country fried steak skillet! A layered skillet of country fried steak, hash browns, mushrooms, peppers, onions and sausage gravy and comes with their delicious home-made bread! Their sausage links are the best I've had since I was a kid. Service has been excellent every time, and I've had different waitresses- all attentive and polite. They check on your repeatedly to make sure all is well. I went once with my elderly parents and the waitress was so wonderful with them. Very nice people! Portions are huge! Have had to get a go box every time. So thankful to have a 5 star cafe so close to Nekoosa and...

Very poor service. Food is ok at best, tends to be greasy. The waitresses will verbally attack you if they think you are not going to leave a good enough tip. There are several people who been verbally attacked by the wait staff. I will never go there again. Scarlet is especially vicious, we sat at a table and had 2 bills wrote up I went up to pay my bill while others were finishing their meals. I put 23 dollars down on counter, the bill was 22.45 and said to keep the change. Then Scarlet said "thats my tip, 55 cents." I couldnt believe it, we had her tip already on table. She then jumped me when I asked what she said cause I couldnt believe it. She was practically yelling at me in a crowded resturant. Scarlet is crazy and needs to be institutionalized. I was so embarrassed and the owner Misty is just as crazy, she stuck up for her, gave me an attitude and never once apologized. There menopause must act up all on the same day!!! DO NOT GO THERE UNLESS YOUR LOOKING TO BE INSULTED...
