The big deciding point for me was the lack of attentive service (our waitress was super nice but essentially paid us no mind), we arrived at 550pm and was out by 715ish and I could understand if it was busy but the place had maybe 5 patrons small parties, which were being served regularly but not exactly sure why it took us forever to get an app and a main while our server walked around in circles for what seemed like a lifetime.
On to the food (and more waiting)
Drinks were excellent, wife got the Manhattan, I got the esopas drink.
Charcuterie board was excellent, huge selection of prime meats/ cheeses/ jams, we were done, again, no one came by to collect the board so it basically sat in front of us for 30 mins while we stared at it, it was finally removed when our main dishes arrived (after we had asked for the huge chunk of tree bark to be removed).
Main dishes:
My wife's pork chop was incredible, spiced nicely, and was a good size with a perfect cook and a fantastic selection of fresh veggies.
My risotto was overcooked, mushy, underspiced, and was cold (no point in even asking for a refire as I was worried I'd be waiting for another 30+ minutes) and mind you, this dish was $24 and COMPLETELY not worth it.
All in all, I would have had a much better experience had our server paid attention to us and been attentive... I just feel like I was ripped off tonight, and all for a bill of almost $112.
I would never come back to this place sadly, not worth the cost and negative experience.
UPDATE: CALLED LUKE THE NEXT DAY BUT IT'S OBVIOUS HE WASN'T INTERESTED IN SPEAKING ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE, ONLY GIVING THE IMPRESSION TO THE INTERNET THAT HE CARES AS A GENERAL MANAGER. REDUCING MY REVIEW...
Read moreAmbiance is lovely, food is OK, but unfortunately the service lacks consistency or structure. Cocktails that we ordered were delicious and arrived quickly. We started with the Charcuterie board, which was delightful but quite big. Suggestion might be to make 2 sizes of the board. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. It took such a long time for our main course to come out that by the time it arrived, the Charcuterie had settled and we were full. During this waiting time, which had to be at least 30 minutes, our waitress did not come and check on us. This is usually prime time for a patron to order another drink/glass of wine prior to the main course arriving, so a missed opportunity to upsell the customer. Our main course was also delivered while the empty Charcuterie board sat in front of us, making it difficult for the runner to leave our main course. My main course was well cooked, however my husband's risotto was bland and the rice had been overcooked. If the restaurant were super busy and understaffed, I would have been more understanding. However, there were very few tables (probably 4-6, mainly 2 tops and one 4 top that arrived as we were leaving) and 3 servers. With a tighter service team this place could...
Read moreDid not have great expectations to start.
It appeared that they were short servers as seems to be everywhere these days. The busboy we observed was covering an area that should be shared by two. Kudos to him. I’d hire him for his work ethic. Service was mediocre at best. (and please restaurants stop asking us to keep our used utensils for the second course (pet peeve!)
Had a mixed green salad with pecans and blue cheese and apples to start. Three very thinly sliced apples and a few minuscule bites of cheese in the bowl. It was dull to say the least. Lacked flavor and was presented in a round flat bowl which seemed odd.
My risotto with asparagus and sun dried tomatoes was just ok. Not very creamy and had way too many sun drieds. Should have had more asparagus. We passed on dessert if there was any.
I hesitate to give establishments low scores but it’s the only way they can level up and fix what’s broken. I will not be returning again. With the cost of dining out these days one shot is...
