My husband & I went to FINS & FORKS on a Monday evening (9/11) without a reservation. It was early 6:30-ish we were pleasantly greeted at the door and seated right away. They have made subtle changes to the décor which has a huge impact, it is a lovely warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was delicious, fresh local ingredients and the presentation beautiful! We shared the calamari appetizer. WOW, it was superb! Best, freshest calamari ever! For my entrée I ordered the tune poke, crisp fresh vegetables and the tune was very tasty, I recommend this dish. My sweetheart had their special, lamb chops with mashed potatoes and asparagus. He said it was cooked just right! Dessert was also yummy; we shared the banana bread sundae. So good! Okay, so I covered the atmosphere & the food now my review on their service. OVER THE TOP attentive. I mean to the point that is was DISRUPTIVE. Tommy the chef, who was really acting as a server, sat us and made pleasant small talk. Then the general manager came by our table to introduce herself, I do not know why, lovely lady and all but she really did not have to hang out and chat with us…Then the waitress who was a sweet lady, but she kept interrupting us! I mean, we were having a conversation, it was obvious we did not need anything and yet she interrupted us; to ask if everything came out okay. Crazy! They really need to learn how to read the table before approaching their guest. We may go back, & I stress “MAY” because although the food was excellent, we really do enjoy our own company. Can we take...
Read moreNot a good experience. Service was terrible. We were sat right away at a table we chose outside. About ten min later, a waiter comes out saying “ok, who was here first? (there were three separate tables waiting) he doesn’t even wait for an answer, as we were there first, and just picks a table, takes their drink order and walks inside. 2 min later he comes out with their drinks and goes to the other table for their order. Then a young man brings us water, fork and knife. Next, the chef comes out and takes our order to only tell us there’s no mahi mahi tacos that we wanted. Ok we get the white fish tacos. Young man who sat us now comes out and asks if we need anything. They seemed very disorganized. It was not crowded and nobody seemed to know who they were helping or what they were doing. Calamari came out terrible. The rings were chewy and so many tentacles over a huge bed of lettuce. Lobster rolls come out on hot dog buns and the absence of lobster on the bun was a disgrace to call even call it a lobster roll. No chunks of meat at all. Not even one! It was like shredded lobster and barely any on it. Maybe a teaspoon amount. Fish tacos were flavorless as well and wet. $100 later we left hungry and highly disappointed. Will never go back. Save your money and time and find...
Read moreIt is sad to see how one of my favorite restaurants closed but I was happy to know that I new one was opening so I decided to give it a try with my husband and sister. We went on a Thursday night with no reservation. The sit as down super quick and even let us pick the table. The service was okay, clearly the place just open so they do need a little bit more of training. As an appetizer, we ordered Mussles and then as main dishes we got the ribs, the swordfish and the salmon. The food tasted good but, there’s just TOO much on the plates. My salmon had olives, which I will personally take away, 1 flower, lemon edge, capers (I will take away too), white beans, tomatoes, green edible plants and more. It is just too many ingredients, so the flavor of the salmon gets lost. It happened the same with the swordfish. The taste of the ribs was good but they were not soft. The menu needs to be fixed ASAP. It’s not attractive at all. The one that is online looks way better. Recommendation: use the online menu without the pictures, as your in person menu too. Adding some daily special or event nights I think it will help too. I know it’s a new restaurant, so I will wait some time for them to adjust and come back later on, to give it a second chance and update...
