Matsulin — Restaurant in Town of Southampton

So glad we found this restaurant. My husband and I wanted Peeking Duck so I searched online for local restaurants that serve it. Matsulin came up in my search. I called to make sure they do serve it and also to see if we needed to reserve a Duck. 🦆 we did reserve a Duck. We arrived a little early and were seated right away. We had a shrimp roll and seaweed salad for appetizers. Both were delicious. We had the Peeking Duck for our main course. After we had the peeking duck Vivian, one of the owners came to the table and asked if we were ready for our 3rd course. We were a bit confused and very full. They take the duck that they do not use for the peeking duck rolls and combine it with sautéed vegetables and serve it with rice. All of the food was 5 stars. It’s not only about the food for us when we go out. It’s about service, atmosphere etc. Nicole one of the servers, she spend a good amount of time with us at our table talking about the food and making conversation to actually get to know us. Made us feel welcomed. Vivian one of the owners was so friendly also. Restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean. They also have a Sushi bar which you can sit and eat dinner there as well. Overall great experience. We are already planning on taking our neighbors...

We had dinner here last night for the first time. We were greeted so warmly when we arrived and seated right away. The staff is so attentive and friendly. We ordered drinks and appetizers first. Had the roti cani and edamame. The roti was so delicious and well seasoned. The edamame was also good. It didn't have seasoning on it, but still yum. Our sake came out and they were super about pouring it for us. We had for dinner the chicken pad thai, takka don and shiraka roll to share. The oad thai was well seasoned and the portion was generous. The noodles were a little over cooked, but again yum. The takka don was a good portion, but the rice a bit overcooked as well. But, well seasoned. I'm not sure what roll we received but it was delicious and close to the one ordered. We loved our experience. The restaurant is so nice inside and the service was amazing. We will definitely be back.

Another delicious meal. Had an early dinner. Everyone was lovely. We had the same sake, however this time it wasn't cold to begin with. Oh well. It was by the time we finished dinner. I still this the sushi rice is a bit overcooked. But, they do...

I’ve been here twice and none of my experiences were good. Today my reservation was at 7:30, the waitress took 15 minutes to come to the table, she was kinda rude, another 15 minutes passed and I had to go look for the manager so that someone could come and take my order. Finally after 8:30 the food came in, I had the pineapple fried rice and I didn’t love it to be honest. I understand that the place was really busy but the tables were super close to each other, when I ordered my bottle, the waiter literally grabbed the cooler from the next table and put it in mine, I had to tell him to at least change the ice. Two days before I came for lunch and when I got there, staff told us that they didn’t do dine in for lunch. This is something they should have posted on...
