Hampton Bays used to have a great beach town atmosphere with the highlights being The Drift Inn, Neptune's and of course the Boardy Barn. Sadly they're all gone and all that is left is generations of memories. I'm happy that someone bought the Boardy Barn and turned it into the Barnyard. Tony and Mickey donated a lot to the community (without the need for publicity) and it's great to see their legacy didn't get torn down. It would have been a scar on the town if "The World Famous Boardy Barn" was turned into a strip mall or worse condominiums full of people with a lot of opinions but not a lot of understanding or appreciation for the history of Hampton Bays. The Boardy Barn was around for almost 50 years and the Barnyard can't replace that much history overnight but I'm confident as the summers pass by and new memories get made the Barnyard will slowly start to fill the legacy that came before it.
