This restaurant is a true out-of-the-way hidden little diamond. I deliver for DoorDash part time I have delivered a lot of items from this restaurant. Since Covid things in this restaurant have become very "industrial" in that items come out in aluminum containers and if you eat in, they have chopsticks, plastic utensils and pretty much you help yourself to a tea dispenser etc. but it does indeed add to the charm of this restaurant. Most of the clientele I've seen sitting and eating or of Asian heritage. Just my kind of restaurant, authentic Chinese, and Asian cooking. My wife and I ordered, the steam bass, eggplant with garlic sauce, and the baby bok choy with mushrooms. The fish was incredible. Very fresh tasting. Mild and aromatic from the herbs. Steamed with it. When I ordered the eggplant, I've always had it with the Chinese eggplant and asked if they did it that way. Because they said no, I almost didn't order it. I'm glad that I did , the eggplant was also delicious with mild heat/sweet and a dark garlic sauce and scrumptious. The mushrooms and bok choy were in a lighter sauce and offset the heat from the previous two dishes. It was delicious. I for one will...
Read moreDisappointed. There has been little change in term of the environment (shabby), but a lot of change to the taste of the food and the dish portion for the last three years. I have been there many times and would give them 4 stars for the previous visits which were more than a year ago. However, today's experience is not even close to mediocre, the dishes were all rushed out with either too much salt or overcooked or burnt. The portion of the dishes has gone from huge to tiny, and you better ask about the price for the chef's recommendations on the white board, as they did not show the price which will surprise you (compared to their regular menu), we did not know this until check out. Oh, by the way, service is almost non-insistent as always, help yourself to the disposable cups for water and take the menu to the front to order. In the past, all these shabby environment and service would be compensated by their cheap price, good taste and generous portion, all of which has...

Service: Prompt and quick. Not much besides bringing over the dishes, but the girl at the counter was generous with the takeout boxes and even gave us recommendations for things to do in Buffalo.
Atmosphere: Not the place to go if you’re looking for ambience. The restaurant is clean and tidy. Chairs are fold-out, you steep your own oolong tea bag in a styrofoam cup of hot water. Despite all this, there’s a sense of being at home or at a quick restaurant in Beijing. I didn’t mind it.
Food: We ordered the: Tomato Egg Drop Tofu Soup (西红柿鸡蛋豆腐汤), Pai Huanggua (拍黄瓜), Hongshaorou (红烧肉), Green Pepper Tudousi (青椒土豆丝), and Sweet and Sour Shortribs (糖醋排骨). Very hearty and true to the Northern Chinese style of home cooking: the seasoning was light and savoury, with mild flavours and suitable garnish.
Overall: Surprisingly authentic Northern Chinese food....
