Shelley's Deli — Restaurant in Town of Union

My Family and myself, have been fans of Shelley's Deli"Fresh is Best" for many years. Dave and his son, really give you your money's worth of food. Their takeout menu has absolutely delicious choices, sometimes too hard to chose so order 2. Their prices aren't bad either. Sometimes it get's really busy in there, I'd advise you to call ahead and place your takeout order. Sometimes there's younger employees working there, that don't always give you the great value for your dollar, but in general Shelley's Deli is a place you must visit and order a Chicken Spiedie Sub or a Chicken Spiedie Salad. Their menu is filled with tasty Subs-cold or hot (a wide range variety),Pizza, even Breakfast Pizza, Wings, Sandwiches and Sides. Trust me, you won't be hungry after you've ate at Shelley's Deli where "Fresh is Best". Give them a try if you haven't already. An old standby but not a standout. This place does a lot of things well enough but is not a master of anything in particular... Except being a nice family owned local place and therin lies the charm. The place was filled with working class folk and old retirees nursing their morning go juice. Looks like good conversation is to be had here if you're looking to get an earful about today's youth and local politics.

The subs are as good as any sub that isn't terribly mishandled. The bread and ingredients are par for the course and fresh. The deli meat selection looks good but not so good that I would drive across town. The breakfast sandwiches are an easy comfort to start your day. They even offer the local delicacy: spiedies... A welcome menu item but again, merely done well enough at a price I'm not setting your house on fire for.

If you walk in here you will find something to eat at prices that make sense. This place is an easy tradition if you're looking for something edible that won't break the bank along your route.

Very tasty food a great bargain for what you pay fresh food a wide variety to choose from. While waiting for my food, one of the employees that was making pizza, seemed to have an attitude problem. Maybe because he was short! (update) The other day I stopped in to get something to eat. The older guy that makes a great sub was working, instead of him I got the short guy from before. I heard another employee call him Chris. He asked what he could get me, as he was getting my order he turns around to the older employee and says something that I couldn't hear but then both of them turned around and laughed. That we're talking about a customer right in front of the customer. I found out to be really rude and unprofessional. It makes me not want to the Patriot at that store anymore.
