STAY AWAY- Not because what you are going to read below which because of my personal experience but surely because of mandatory service charge (not the gratuity) of 15%.. Now speaking from my experience went to this restaurant on the way to Niagara Falls - at restaurant around 9 PM Friday night (usual timing were open till 10.00 PM) we saw chefs were leaving by 9.30 upon taking our order and there was just one person in restaurant who was serving. Anyways about food was not tasty at all - we ordered veg vindaloo which was more like a mix veg and was bland & tasteless. dal tadaka was without tadaka and watery. Naans were too big for the portions but not worth for the money. Interesting part is they charged for the pickle 2.98$ for small quantity- really on top of that they call it imported pickle? how they justify that small amount which they don't cook to sell at that price. Another interesting part is this restaurant will charge you for service charge ( no matter for what size of table / no of people you are on). We were 3 adults and two small kids and they charged us 15% (not the gratuity) but the service charge- and that really upset me. we paid almost $10 for service charge..for really no special service....we were kind of left alone in there for most part of the dining..
Rest - take risk if you want to try this...
Read moreWhenever I'm in the mood for some good comfort food and a peaceful environment I head here. I live Indian food and they have so many types of delicious options. Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, like mild food, or like to turn the spice up, they have something for you. I have friends from India who I used to share meals with sometimes and now I live far away from them and miss them, so when I eat here it reminds me of my friends from India and they're good cooking. Their meat here is always very tender too and deliciously seasoned. I love the lunch buffet where I can try all kinds of dishes and the dinner menu is very satisfying too. Today, I got the Pepper Chicken curry which comes with classic Indian Basmati rice, and side of the day (which I ate up pretty fast haha), and some whole wheat Nan which I'm also 3/4 of the way through. Just couldn't wait to take the picture. I like spicy dishes and the pepper chicken in rich curry sauce hits the spot. The people here are also very kind. Happy to explain the menu to me when I want to know more about a dish and just very friendly to talk to as well. I live close by and this has become a regular spot for me. Not badly priced either. I think you get the most bang for your buck with the lunch buffet, but dinner prices are very reasonable as well. I definitely recommend...
Read moreLet me start by admitting that I had never had Indian cuisine before today. Now that I say that, I'm not sure why it took me so long. My wife's cousin and husband were in town for the weekend, and as it turns out, they love Indian so we made a reservation for the Sunday Buffet. After navigating a pop up snow squall on 490 East which slowed everybody, we'll not everyone, down to about 30 miles an hour. We arrived safely at India House in Victor. Looking around at the traffic on the highway, it seems we have some very talented drivers here, who can text and drive quite fast while passing other cars during a mini white out. ( I'm referring to the speed of driving as I can't confirm the speed at which they can text). Greeted by a friendly host, all 10 of us were seated at a long table in the back. Very nice. We quickly got down to the business of eating. I went up three times and tried everything they had. Our host even brought us a few platters of food, which was unexpected and much appreciated. One person in our group has been to India and did attest that the food was a good representation of what she had in county. I liked everything I had, but did not have anything stand out. I will try Indian again because once isn't enough to really form a...
