THIRSTY TURTLE OWES ME MONEY (equivalent to a cover charge from 2012).
I am not usually this petty, but I am still bitter and salty about this experience over a decade later. So in an attempt for me to emotionally let go of this, I have to tell my story.
A friend of mine and I were meeting up with a few other friends of ours to hang out in Victor. They were already at Thirsty Turtle, so we arrived there to meet them.
Upon entering, we discovered that a band was going to be playing there and they were starting to charge a cover to get in. I asked them what time they were supposed to start taking a cover and they said it would start in about 7-8 minutes. So I said we should be able to enter without paying the cover but the guy said he needed to start collecting at some point.
I was already pretty salty at that point because: 1) we were before the official time, 2) I didn't know who the band was nor cared, 3) I didn't know how long we would be there or if we were hopping.
We got in, I got a drink, and then my friends and I decided to leave (maybe 10 or 15 minutes later). The band hadn't even finished setting up yet. I told the guy at the front door that I was leaving and I asked him if I could have my cover back. He said "No" and my friend that I came with told me it wasn't worth it and we just left.
The cover in 2012 was $5 and with interest equivalent buying power is about $7. I'm technically fine without the actual money, but I just want to write this review in 2024 so that I inflict at least $7+ worth of financial damage to Thirsty Turtle because this experience was horrible. So if you read this to the end, thank you. And please avoid Thirsty Turtle if this story...
Read moreI travel so I eat out often. I know the difference between good service and great service, and poor service. Had great service and wings on my first visit sitting at the bar. Came back two days later and sat at a table in the bar area. A waitress came over asked me if I wanted her to wait on me, which I said, "Yes, I'd like to order a beer and some food". After placing my order, that was the last I saw of her until she brought the check. Another girl brought my food. I had to ask for napkins. No one came back to see how my food was, did I need another beer, etc. Checking on a customer soon after their food is delivered is a service must.
I finished my beer during my meal and waited. And waited. Another girl was moving chairs around and placed one at my table without asking how I was doing, can I get you anything? My original waitress finally brought my check. "I thought you weren't coming back." "I had tables on the other side," she said. And she had my table as well. No excuses.
I did order another beer, and waited some more. The beer was good and cold and the hamburger was tasty and cooked right. If I return to this area, I'll...
Read moreSo I usually love this bar.. But a young girl was working tonight (Sunday) it's 11:15pm bar closes at 1am. It's packed inside. But seems as though she's shutting the bar down. I asked for a drink and she rudely says "No. I'm shut down" It's Sunday and I totally would have understood either way but the attitude could have been lost and she could have said "I'm so sorry but i just closed down. I appreciate you coming in though." This just reflects badly on managment and whom they choose to hire. I certainly won't drink here when she is here ever and I will tell my friends and family as well. Not worth our money in tips She could have made this a very good situation but her bad attitude got the best of her. Customer service isn't easy as I'm a server as well but I certainly would have made that a positive ending rather than a bad one that will now affect business. Little does she know I come here daily and my friends as well...always be kind to your...
