Pavones Pizza & Eatery — Restaurant in Town of West Monroe

Ok let me start by saying I've eaten the pizza and wings here many times and in my opinion these guys are the best in the area. The pizza is always hot amd perfectly cooked, the crust has just that right amount of crispness that all good NY slices have. For me though the most important part of a pizza is the sauce, I like to taste the sauce and it has to be flavorful and this sauce does not disappoint! The toppings always taste fresh. The wings are my favorite, I always get mild wings or I'll do a split of mild and hot (my wife can't eat hot wings) the sauce is delicious and the wings are always cooked to perfection. A very important factor in any restaurant is consistency and so far the food is always consistent meaning the wings are always cooked the same, no surprises! No for today's food. I got a meatball sub, a cheese steak sandwich and an antipasto. The cheese steak was delicious, the steak was nice and tender although it could use more onion and peppers. The meatball was delicious, the sauce was nice and flavorful and both sandwiches came toasted Italian rolls that were fresh and tasty. The antipasto was typical except the addition of giardiniera which was a nice touch. The only negative thing I can say is the phone manners of rhe guys working there are not the best, when they answer it feels like the equivalent of talking to your father when he's busy doing something. Its like you disturbed them or something Lol. However! Once you get to the place and talk to the guys they are alot nicer and...

Update: Owner called next morning. Apologized. Full refund. Set things right.

I put an online order in at 5:29 for 1 Large Pepperoni Pizza, Wings and a Salad. Expected Delivery time starts at 6:04-6:19. Immediately get an updated email to 6:34-6:49. 7 O'clock comes. No delivery. Call Pavones to check status and a young lady states " O, its on its way".....40 minutes go by, I call again. A young man answers. I ask again about the delivery he says what's the name address?.... Again " O yea its on its way" I state, listen if it's not really on its way I'd like to cancel the order as it's already over an hour late.....No No No its on its way 15-25 minutes.....Now if you've read this far you know the Delivery is now about 2 HOURS LATE. I call back again at 830, same schpeal. The manager finally gets on the line asks me all the same questions of the evening. As he's looking through his online orders I can hear him come to the realization it was never made or sent out. I tell him I'd like to cancel the order. He goes you sure "I can get it right out"...... Laughable.

Im all for small businesses, especially ones that are just starting out in a new location and understand normal delays with weather and all.

But word of advice.

Don't continuously lie to your customers each time they call. Just tell the truth and let the customer decide if your food / service is...

FINAL UPDATE: Pavones Central Square is THE pizza spot. I can’t recommend this place enough now. This is our go to place for pizza and wings and the quality is nothing short of perfection and deliciousness. I highly recommend the fried mushrooms and golden wings but everything is always mouth watering good. Thank you Pavones for providing such delicious food!! My family and I will be customers for a long time

UPDATE: After the disaster that was the party where no one liked the food, the owner reached out and wanted to make things right. I was personally called and the owner offered a credit for the order I had placed and wanted to give his business another try. I want to let everyone seeing this know, my family and I had ordered last week (garlic pizza, dozen wings and fried mushrooms) — everything was night and day from before. The garlic pizza was delicious, we opted for the gold wings which were crispy and delicious this time and the fried mushrooms were huge and came with a delicious ranch to dip them in. I appreciate Pavones reaching out to make good on the bad experience and we look forward to having them as part of our normal pizza rotation.
