916 Riverside — Restaurant in Town of Hastings

This is the first year we ordered the Thanksgiving dinner from 916 Riverside. Our friend highly recommended it as she's been doing it for years. It was absolutely delicious! And we'll be back next year for sure. The only negative thing is the pick-up was more difficult than at tlother places we've ordered from in the past. I'm very happy my friend that recommended it was with me. She knew exactly where to go. There weren't any signs pointing the way or a sign in the door telling us where to go. Then once in the bar area there was no one spot for pick-up and only two bartenders waiting on customers. We went to the end of the bar and waited for one to be free to ask where we were supposed go. She said right here. As we were waiting there were other people coming in that obviously were also looking for where to go. I waved a few over to us. The poor bartender was so, so busy. But hey, it's Thanksgiving. To be expected. Maybe because our pick-up time was noon they weren't in a rhythm yet. And hopefully next year they'll block off 4-5 spots for Turkey Day pick-up orders near the bar and direct everyone in that door. We had to park far away as the restaurant was open for business and very busy. And the boxes were heavy to carry through the restaurant and then through the parking lot with no assistance. (At least for this 50+ year old.) And we each had to make two trips. But we will do it again either way. It was worth it in the end. Delicious food that the whole family loved. Happy...

Thought we would try a new place for dinner tonight so we went to...916 Riverside....here are my thoughts on my $145 family dinner (cost after they took off the price of my sons plastic wrapped chicken sandwich). ...can you give them a negative rating!!! The only positive was a very wonderful waitress. Parking lot extremely dangerous...was not lit, my son was served a chicken sandwich where the chicken was still wrapped in plastic!!! Becasueit was apparently prepared that way and then placed on his sandwich with other items piled on top is was hard to tell if it was an actual sealed bag on the chicken or completely wrapped in saran wrap....disgusting!! Thank god he did not choke to death! They did take it off receipt but no manger or anything came out to apologize. Ironic part...we were the only people there other then a couple of people at the bar. So apparently cook staff can not handle their job for one table...thank goodness they werent doing much business. Band was awful, restaurant was clean from floor to eye level but dont look up any higher. Mens bathroom was poorly lit which my boys said was good so you could not see what the sticky stuff on the floor was you were walking in. can not open entrance door even half way because it scrapes to a stop on the concrete. Obviously we were extremely disappointed...such potential but not worth the choking hazard they serve up to...

Went here first time with sisters and brother in law. We all liked our food. Wasn’t spectacular but good enough. salads were clean, fresh and good Italian house dressing. Shrimp scampi was good they do in a creamy sauce and my sis really liked she said. My other sis and I both tried the broiled haddock done in Blue Moon beer and orange slices. Was expecting something really different but it was pretty normal. Was tasty but expected better flavor. Haddock was fresh and meaty. Spent alittle extra for a premium side the baked potato with bacon and cheese and sour cream. Potato was done properly and was actually better than most I’ve tried. There was a 2pc guy guitar band that sang rock songs. Actually the original guy was either sick or had another commitment and a different singer played. He was ok (couldnt really understand what he was saying when he sung too close to the mike) but they actually got better as the night went on ( probably after our 3rd bottle of wine). They were ok and nice having something to listen to as we ate and after. Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating always checking on us and there was a decent crowd of tables eating and listening to music and he did very well getting around to everyone. Will definitely try this place again before the weather breaks and can’t wait to try it a few times on the deck in...
