Arctic King — Restaurant in Town of Hastings

My mom, my girlfriend and I stopped by after supper last week to get some ice cream. We got in line 5-10 minutes before close and some more people pulled up and got in line behind us. Girls at the counter were pretty abrupt but not a big deal at all, we understood they were about to close and had a line. We sat down to eat like 3-4 minutes before close and some others did the same and there were still people in line still ordering right on the hour. Mosquitos were a huge issue so we decided to sit in our cars and finish our ice cream there. As we are finishing our ice cream and there are other people in the lot we notice the girls just staring at us blank eyed in the shop. They'd shuffle around and then come back to just staring at us and then started messing with and pointing at the closed sign in the window. After a few minutes of them weirdly staring at us in our car (which happened to be the only one parked close to where you walk up and order) we realized they probably wanted us to leave and were actually pointing at the closed sign now. This was not even 5 minutes past them being closed so at first I could hardly believe that they were actually trying to communicate that they were closed and wanted us to leave when we had gotten our ice cream like 6-7 minutes before and they had only finished serving their last customer a a couple mins prior as they served the line past their closing time. I’m surprised they didn't have any closing duties to perform and instead decided to lean on the counter together & throw disapproving glances at only one of the 2-3 other cars in their lot finishing their ice cream. I get that they're prob in middle school or something but please teach your juvenile employees to not try to scare customers away with menacing looks at 9:04 while they're obviously still finishing...

If you're into places with local flair...this is your place!! Arctic King has been a staple in the Brewerton and Central Square community for years...they have great service, great staff and fun things to do. It's not just an ice cream joint! There's mini golf, games and rides for really small kids. Ray and his family are always on site and often are seen chatting with customers at the tables. This is a great family spot! Oh, and they do take credit/debit cards on...

Great old ice cream stand with big cones, stuff for kids to play on or with, good prices and a really friendly owner who always comes out to chat with us when we visit. Good choices for cones, soft serve, shakes, sundaes and splits. They have some food as well but we havent tried any (there is ice cream to be had after all!) Think they serve Perry's ice cream brand so you already know you will be getting...
