Went for the first time on 1/18/25. Overall the food was good. We ordered off the standard menu, rather than try the specials for our first visit. We both had omelettes, which were great. The home fries were bland. My boyfriend had onions added to his which ended up just being cooked onions ON TOP of the potatoes, rather than cooked in. We got there at about 10am on Saturday and we were seated pretty quickly. However it felt like we were rushed out. But the price of the food was good. The candy I bought has been great so far and we would absolutely go back again.

I was a little disappointed as it was my first time eating there. Service was awesome, atmosphere even better. Food was.... let's say I love French fries, and there's were made in house. But way under cooked. Maybe it's because of all the senior citizens that go there and it's Wayne County. If you order them ask for a few extra minutes. When you walk in don't look left.. so much chocolate..... And cheap prices, no wonder it's always busy. So the next morning here I am having breakfast... best sausage gravy/ biscuits in the North. Two big thumbs up to the cooks. .

Delectable! Staff and guests are as sweet as the confections. Baby are a chocolate snowflake then threw a fit when I cleaned her up. The waitress, a dear grandmother, laughed and said she'd take of it. Baby was all smiles! My daughter picked some treats and split the special French Toast with me. Friend had a not even $10 full meal to rival the OG Grand Slam. All homemade! They have fancy soda pops, cute novelties, and artisinal creations. Try the PB cups and pretzels! I'm coming back because I saw they have eggs bennies 👀

Was just served significantly MOLDY bread (toast) with my breakfast. Not just a little spot on the edge of one of the slices...one of them had a quarter sized spot right in the middle. At least 3 out of 4 had mold on them...I'm sure the one I ate had at least a small spot on the plate/crust side as well. Somebody actually buttered it too. I can't imagine how that can happen. It's definitely a testament to how little care is being put into what they're doing. They were not busy...I've seen that place 40 times busier. It was treated as though it was inevitable/common "Sorry that happened to you. It's too bad when stuff like that happens" There was no offer of doing anything to rectify the situation. Waitress didn't even ask if I wanted a new plate, or what I wanted to do from there. I'm impressed, but not the good way. I couldn't possibly ever walk in there again with anything less than serious distrust...but of course, I won't ever be going in there again. If they can miss something that big and blatant...imagine what else could be...

This establishment was a favorite of ours until COVID-19 hit. We used to be treated like family. We have tried take out and even dine in a few times but have been more disappointed with each visit. Our most recent breakfast this past week was almost inedible. My toast tasted moldy. My over easy eggs were cooked far too long. My sons waffle was so well done he didn't eat a bite. Our server never came back to the table to check on us. Very disappointing. My final straw was today when I walked into another establishment very close to home to find my same favorite truffles that Candy Kitchen claims to make themselves. We miss the good food, the good staff, and the honesty...
