Jay's Deli — Restaurant in Town of Woodbury

Almost every staff member has an attitude cuz the owner doesn't pay them on time. When your next in line its more of "what do you want" not "what can i get you". They could do better but the owner doesn't care much about the business. Only decent deli in the area which is why it thrives. Staff only seems to be friendly to the old fossils living around there. Old woman that does the register had a line almost out the back door while she slower then ever rang people out. If you don't like your job either quit and retire already or get something else. She doesn't even say hi or any normal greetings and goodbyes, literally stands there like she can't speak while ringing you out and you better bag your own stuff if you don't wanna stand there for a few min extra. Meanwhile the old guy before you got a smile and a whole conversation out of her. Not looking for much just a little bit of polite customer service instead of some ugly dirty look on your face. Prices are outrageous. You better justify buying that bag of chips for 4 dollars and the smallest bottle of ketchup will set you back 5 and change. I mean damn they double the price on some stuff. Anyway I still go here from time to time for a sandwich cuz it's the only place around but don't expect any type of respect or customer service walking in there. Let me start by saying the Old Man with the white hair that’s always in the front is Rude and Racist. I’ve never dealt with someone that’s always so consistently rude, every time I checkout it’s an attitude and he’ll say “you’re good” as if I can’t afford it or he expects my card to decline. As a local, I wish I could give this establishment a great rating. However, the older man working the register has a nasty attitude and disposition. If he doesn’t like his job, he should look for another one that doesn’t require customer service. At no point during my interaction with him was his attitude pleasant, friendly or welcoming, just rude, dismissive and unwelcoming. Our friendly greeting of hello, was not returned, all he could muster up out of his mouth was the price dismissively.
