Mr Shawarma & Bbq — Restaurant in Trenton

Ordered from here for the first time today. Ordered the Veggie Plate and the Tawook Plate. The place is newer and decorated nice. Ordered carry out and no issues with the order. The total for both was about $42.50. Wish it could have been less, but about what everyone is charging now-a-days. Everything was hot and nice reusable container. A little chincy on the pita and only receive a couple. The chicken was great, moist and not dry and marinaded nicely. The yellow rice was nice, not over nor under-done. The potatoes were great and had garlic sauce on them. The garlic sauce was perfect....creamy and a good garlic flavor, but not soo much make my tongue burn. The condoments included 2 containers of Tahini, one of garlic sauce, and one with the dressing. All were great. The Tahini was thick and had a solid peanut flavor. There was a grilled onion and tomato, which were great and a great touch. The salad was fresh. As far as the veggie plate, Tabbouli was great. The grape leaves flavor was good, but on the mushy side. The falafal was excellent. The hummus was creamy, but had a weird flavor from what used to. The Baba texture was good, but a little on the bland side. A mega meat stuffed inside a Pita, you can pick your own additions . I added Spicy Hummus, Garlic Sauce, Pickles OMG 😋, had a dozen of these since opening 4 years ago. She had the Kafta another winner 😋 with thick hot Fries marvelous Yummy 🤤. I tried the new Spicy Kafta WOWED we have a winner, it's a take on Armenian Sujuk you must try 😄. So happy Papa and 2 son's along with daughter in-law run a fantastic place. Spotless clean dining room and restrooms, they have hundreds of regular customers. It's tucked in corner of shopping center Van Horn and Fort Street, Sos and Tractor Supply easy to find. My first time in there: The owner was lecturing someone loudly in the back about personal issues. The cashier wasn't wearing gloves while scooping toppings, despite having handled cash moments earlier, and having repeatedly touched their own face. Working with cash and then working with food without washing your hands OR putting on gloves is gross and extremely unsanitary. There was only 1 menu, and it was laminated hand held copy at the cash register. Their fountain drink machine wasn't working, and they didn't have cups or straws for the people dining in. Both meats were lackluster/under seasoned, and it felt kinda weird that the meat is sitting out without any heat or preservation or seasoning between orders for people (they turn the heat source on before cutting meat off). All of these things together made me feel a little sketchy about it, especially not knowing what might be going on in the back that I couldn't see. I most likely won't...
