Colonial Grind — Restaurant in Trinity

This was our first time here and what a great discovery! My granddaughter wanted to go get Boba tea after her birthday dinner. We had been going to one in High Point but discovered this local one and gave it a shot!

The esthetics of the location are so nice. A cozy coffee shop that has sufficient seating and some neat features! There is a coffee table the is a chalkboard on top where you can sit and doodle as you enjoy your drinks and snacks. We then discovered there’s a whole wall of chalkboard! The girls loved being creative as Mom and Grandma relaxed.

The employees are so sweet and gracious. I’d like to highlight Lorin in particular! She was so patient and accommodating with my 8 year old granddaughter who tends to interact on a high level. She engaged with her, even joined in on writing on the chalkboard with her! When Lorin discovered it was my other granddaughter’s birthday, she said if she has known she would’ve perhaps bought her drink. (This is not to be expected btw anyone, of course. But the thoughtful and kind gesture was so appreciated!) She is a gem and deserves recognition for an amazing job of serving and engaging with the customers!

Another bonus for me personally was that they had Christian music playing. It added to the sense of relaxation and gratitude of the day and new experience at Colonial Grind!

We come here quite often. Sometimes twice a day. We are so frequent that half the time the staff sees us coming and is already typing our order in 😂 We love to try new coffee places but ever since finding CG, we no longer do that. Why waste money on a coffee that takes a chance of being nasty when we know for a fact what we get here is always delicious. I have tried one of every specialty that they have and i have yet to find one that is nasty. People complain about the wait time but yet, I have never waited more than 5 mins for our drinks, unless there are multiple people in front of me, which is clearly understandable that I will be waiting because I know good fresh coffee has to be made. Nobody has ever sat and waited “20 mins” for a drink to be made unless you have 10 people in front of you. The staff is always extremely friendly and very professional. As a matter of fact, we work up this morning debating on trying a new coffee place. Come support this local coffee shop,The coffee is delicious and the atmosphere is very peaceful and welcoming! I came during lunch hours during the week and it was not crowded at all and very easy to find a seat and not a big line for coffee either . They have so many flavor options for coffee and also they have several desserts to pick from . I tried there cheesecake and it was super delicious 😋! I ended up getting a cheesecake Frappuccino and it was amazing . Between me and my friend I spent 20$ for both of us and we both got coffee and a snack . They made it really quickly to we dint have to wait long at all, and the ladies were very attentive and nice. This a great local spot to come have Bible study or just to sit and enjoy some quiet time . The only thing I would say is parking , it could be a problem trying to find a spot because of how small the parking place is due to the surrounding places they share the space with.
