Subway — Restaurant in Troy

The kiosk at the drive thru was not working well. Took 10 minutes to put order in - Two 6 inch subs and the foot-long cookie. Total was to be just over 20 dollars. Pulled up to window and watched for about 15 minutes while 2 employees made 2 sandwiches. Then the gentleman walked past the drive thru window and grabbed my order ticket and proceeded to make my sandwiches. 10 more minutes of watching and thinking this place will never make it if this is usual wait time. They finished my order and the gentleman came to the window and said price was 16.51. I gave him 20.01 and he asked if a wanted to leave a gratuity. I was a bit surprised as nobody has ever outright asked me before. It's on screens all the time, but to ask me.... I usually tip, but in this case, nobody took my order, I used a kiosk, had no special requests and I waited almost half an hour. I politely said "not this time." He replied of course not and slammed the window shut. I was floored and said excuse me. He reopened the window and said it's called respect for the person who made my sandwich. He said she had a 250 order in front of me and she moved me up so I would get food more quickly. But to go ahead and be rude and closed the window again. I was shocked. I didn't know about any other order, and frankly would not have waited, who knows how long it would have taken if I had to wait for a large order to be completed. As I drove away I also realized I did not get the cookie but I also was not charged for it. No explanation was given to me, were they out of them, did they not have time to make it? I had no clue and by then, I did not care. I will never go back. Food was...

I waited in the drive threw for two subs for 15-20 mins to have to pull out of line and go in because I’m a type on diabetic and was experiencing a low blood sugar and needed to eat, when I went in to get my food staff took a very long time to acknowledge me, then once they finally started to make my food they moved at a snail pace and took almost an additional 25 minutes while I am having a low blood sugar episode and have a baby in the car waiting with her mother, To only find out that the subs were way more in price than I pay anywhere else in the area for subway, very nice looking location seems like it would be convenient with the drive-through but do not get stuck in that line if you have plans and cannot wait especially if you are like me and have diabetes and may need food somewhat quicker. I was absolutely shocked by this location. On the outside, it's new and clean, features a drive thru, etc. Looks like it would be amazing. Go inside and it's still clean and new, but the rest of it is just sad. They are charging astronomical prices for everything (quite literally 30-40% more than other nearby locations), the service is very slow and the prep work was a mess (way overcooked cookies, undercooked bread, etc). No idea how this place will stay in business other than people who mindlessly spend for the sake of convenience. There is a Jersey Mike's just one crossroad down at John R and 14 and a subway a couple of crossroads away at Livernois and Maple that will offer much better experiences at MUCH better prices while still keeping you in the general area. ...
