I noticed that this Mediterranean restaurant had pop up menus for Indian food from different regions of India on the weekends and was intrigued. Today they had a mostly south Indian menu that was fully vegetarian and I am so happy I went to try it because it was absolutely amazing. We started with the pani puri which was fresh and delicious and I recommend ordering it spicy if you eat spicy. We then tried the Samosa Chaat (We asked for yogurt on the side) and it was the best samosa I have ever had with the most delicious toppings and condiments. Just when we thought it couldn't get better, came the Dabeli which was a perfectly balanced work of art with the delicious filling and bun and the pomegranate and peanuts on top. Super fresh and so so delicious. I would absolutely return to eat here. In terms of service , they were very nice to check if we were happy with spice level or wanted more spice and talked to us about the food. They seemed passionate about it and It made for a really fun and interesting experience. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a relaxed dinner. It wasn't full service outside but they talked to us about the food etc. A couple things I would like to note: 1. They add a gratuity fee on 10% on bills. They didn't notify me of that before I paid and I left a tip over that total amount that already included 10%. I do think it should be communicated to customers in advance. When I realized this and pointed it out to them they did refund it. The other thing I would note is that if you are allergic or have dietary restrictions I would make sure to explain you do not want the ingredient you are avoiding/ allergic to in any form (in bread etc) . I can't wait to go back for the next pop up Indian menu and hope they eventually transition the restaurant to Indian or add a regular Indian menu (I have yet to try the mediterranean food there). . Sounds like the two current owners bought the business 4 month ago and I am curious (and hope ) to see the Indian dishes become...
Read moreThis is the best hookah and probably the best Arabic food in Tucson. I ordered the Chicken Shawma plate combo. It came with rice, hummus, salad, chicken, kafta kabob and falafel and pita bread. It was cheap and filled me up and wasn't even done with half of it. The owner will make sure you are comfortable and he packs the smoothest bowls. They are very weary of coals and you will always have big burning coals. I don't remember my coals ever dying because they stayed on top of it. The place is big and has an atmosphere in which you and your friends can just have a good time, be loud and have fun. Sometimes whenever I need to study, I go over there and enjoy a hookah and do homework. One of the best hookah lounges left in Tucson.
TLDR: smooth hookah, AMAZING food, chill...
Read moreTo preface, the location of this restaurant is very obviously a former crack den renovated into a “restaurant”. The smell permeates throughout the building. And I mean it reeks if you know what you’re looking for. Tweakers are constantly entering back and forth in the side gate of the back of the building. The food is overpriced for what it is, having been served unevenly seasoned rice and mystery meat “kebab” that was burnt on the bottom. The main attraction was the hookah, only to be disappointed by dirty hookahs with lip stains on the mouthpiece, very evident that they aren’t sanitized daily per health department regulations. There is also no “lounge”, just fold up chairs and tables to sit at. This place needs to be shut down instantaneously and...
