This Tucson Guadalajarán Cuisine resto is one of our faves to visit when in town! Recently in celebration of a family event, we came by for some exquisite Mexican eats. As usual the consistency of the offerings, the tastes of their preparations, the excellent service and freshness of ingredients was on display. We must compliment Emma Yolanda Vera, who since 2002 has offered Tucson some of the finest Guadalajarán eats in town. This Prince Road location is our favorite of the two sites they offer – no offense to the Oracle Road joint, it’s just the preferred. These folks offer Dine in or out; occasional Live music; some Catering; and a fab Happy Hour – a little for everyone. At this last jaunt to the Guadalajara Original Grill our group was dazzled by a vast array of variety chosen by the group and the excellence that appeared at the table. We all started with our sips of my fave the Corona Rita (aka: the Bulldog) – you know, the Tequila infused with a bottle of Corona held up via a clip on their unique square mug! And the Cadillac Margarita – they call it the King of margaritas with a really smooth blue agave tequila, Grand Marnier with fresh squeezed orange juice – Wow! For our late lunch as I said, we ran the gamut of Tres Bandidos consisting of a tender chicken mole enchilada, a slightly spicy and tender pork chile Verde enchilada, and the simple classic cheese enchilada all obliged with their really, really tasty rice & beans; I had the Mexican Paella which surprised the heck out of me – to this day I had no idea there was such a thing which contained plenty of steamed mussels, delicate pork chorizo, tender chicken breast, lobster and shrimp, over Mexican-style rice with a pinch of saffron that made the dish delish; my Wife and Sis had the Plato Bandera with the lively colors of the Mexican flag with three enchiladas of beef chile colorado, thinly tender shredded chicken with rich salsa blanca, with a decadent pork chile verde also served with rice and beans. And finally, the Tres Bandidos platter with one chicken mole enchilada, a pork Chile Verde enchilada, as well as the classic cheese enchilada again, all served with rice & beans. What I didn’t mention is the tableside Chips and Salsa – Terrifico! The Young Lady doing the honors of preparation in beautiful traditional clothing, is an expert and artist in her delivery. Their served with two distinctly different salsas, and both are unique, delicate and flavorful – caveat emptor, one is not for the faint-hearted taste buds! Overall, as mentioned before, as a fave location for Mexican cuisine in our Tucson adventures, yes there are many Mexican restos in town, but only one really fantastic Guadalajarán, Guadalajara Original Grill – Prince Road! Read moreI am disappointed to write this as my girlfriend and I have been here before and it was great. I came in for lunch today and since I was alone I sat at the bar to not take up a table or both and the service is normally faster which is important to me as I’m working and on my lunch breaker. The server quickly brought chips and salsa and took my order. . . It took maybe 10 minutes for my drink??? Shortly after my drink arrived, the food arrived. I ordered a lunch special chimi plate. She brought me a burrito. 🤦🏼♂️ but it took a while and I don’t have time so I was polite and said thank you. After this… I never see my server again. The burrito wasn’t bad, BUT, it wasn’t what I ordered. Now my drink is empty, chowing down on a burrito that I didn’t ask for… throw in the towel. Literally, my napkin is on my plate. Nobody checked on me. . . 10 minutes pass. . . 20 minutes. I have scanned the room and my server along with two other women are chatting away near what looks like the entry to the kitchen. I keep looking in that direction to make eye contact or draw attention. Nothing. Okay, I gotta go. Without a bill, I pull out $40 (2, $20’s) assuming my meal plan as $15-20 plus a drink plus chips. I left it right on the table and excuse myself from the bar, walk past the chatty women and out to my car. I get to my car and now I see my server behind my car, accusing me of not paying in front of other people. I told her I did pay and she said I did not. I told her I waiting for my bill that she never brought so I left $40 on the table and I got into my car. I’m assuming she had a $15 or so tip that I wish I could take back. I’ve had poor service, but I’ve never had someone follow me to my car and accuse me of stealing in front of other people. No way I will ever return which is a shame as it was one of our...
Read moreMy Wife and I decided to come in a few days ago for date night. We already knew what we wanted to get for dinner which was the mini chimis with shredded beef and the queso Birria tacos. now I’ve been to other Guadalajara specifically the one on Valencia never have they used a blended white and yellow cheese on top of the mini Chimis or have peppers inside them then when the Queso birria tacos came out. I took a few bites, realized that you guys once again used white and yellow mixed cheese instead Of the white cheese that’s basically broken up on top of it or melted it inside And what I was given was also not queso birria they were shredded beef tacos that I was charged $16 Almost $17 for no matter how much I wanted to complain because what I was given is not what I ordered. My Wife stopped me because honestly I would’ve just asked to be charged for my drink and my wife’s drink. But I also didn’t want to stiff our waitress who had done nothing wrong, but looked like she knew that what we were given was not what we ordered unfortunately I can’t dispute the charge because we did go there, but in all honesty, this was so disrespectful and you guys are all supposed to be the same across the board but it seems like you guys are cutting corners. Please reach out to me if you’d like to give me an actual refund on my food at least because this was disgusting. I would also like to know that I believe that you guys heard us complaining because the manager kept coming over and the waitress to see how we were doing and in all honesty again If My Wife wouldn’t have answered for us saying we’re fine I would’ve said something, but she didn’t want to cause a confrontation...
