The Flight Grill used to be known for providing excellent meals in years past. I’ve been visiting the museum for 20+ years and always looked forward to eating lunch there. Sadly, the new revised restaurant operation has ruined what was once a great experience. The quality of the food has declined greatly while the prices have soared. Gone is the delicious, hand-dipped ice cream in a variety of flavors. All that’s available now are prepackaged items typically found in your basic gas station convenience store. Many visitors to Tucson know that it’s famous for its signature Sonoran Hot Dog and The Flight Grill used to serve one of the best in the city: a bacon-wrapped hot dog grilled and served on a soft, warm bolillo-style hot dog bun, then topped with pinto beans, sautéed onions, pico de gallo, and a variety of additional condiments, such as mayonnaise, mustard, Mexican crema, and jalapeño salsa. These days The Flight Grill is charging $14 for an overcooked hot dog on a regular cold bun sprinkled with onions, Kraft shredded cheddar cheese, and a minuscule dollop of Mexican crema. That is NOT a Sonoran Hot Dog! I literally had one bite and found it so revolting that I threw the rest in the trash where it belonged.

Surprisingly good food given it’s a simple (and only) food option in the museum. You can see different planes on outdoor display while eating! We ordered one fried chicken sandwich and one Sonoran hotdog (a Tucson specialty!). I’m pleasantly impressed by both food. The chicken is simple but crispy without too much heavy spices. The dog is covered with salsa and chilli beans. First time trying this version of the hotdog and I like it! You can also get refill drinks which is a nice add on from the scorching hot temperatures outside.

03/10/2025 Eat before or after you visit the Pima Air and space museum. The food is literally garbage and they charge you an arm and a leg. The website, for the food prices, have not been updated in at least 3 years. Besides the quality decline, the $8.00 burgers turned into $15.00. One pizza slice $6.00. Little Caesars is $6.50 for a whole pie! The hot dogs are Dead on arrival (forgive the pun) They we're overcooked and tasteless. I could go on, we were a large group who ordered different things. It was all terrible! And definitely not worth the price! Also, the girl at the register was quite arrogant and rude, not even knowing the menu! She works there, you'd think she'd know what came with what on the menu, right? No, we had to show her the menu! This cafeteria style restaurant was clean and the views from the windows were very nice but the bad taste in our mouth, from the food, will not be forgotten! The Flight Grill needs a...

This is located inside the Pima Air and Space Museum. They have really good food for a museum. Most meals will cost you about $9 for the entree, $3 for a side, and $3 for a drink. Even though that's a little pricey it's because it's in a museum. Just keep that in mind. The food won't disappoint though. It's very fresh and well designed. It's mainly grill type food... burgers, sandwiches etc. The seating is in a very cool room that looks out over all the planes that are outside. They also have outdoor seating and a playground. It's really one of my favorite spots to eat because of the view. They have beer and ice...
