Really highly disappointed about this location. I really expected a much better experience, with the high reviews local TV newscasters had ranted and raved of this place. Our 1st time in this place and it looked like it was going to be a pleasant experience, for starters getting into the building was unusual since parking was mainly in the rear of building. Rear entry doors were not marked or was there any indication that entry was in other location of building. Once in had to asked employee where do you check in, once we found counter area that was unmanned had to wait and a server asked us if we were there to dine (silly question). Next they seated us in a corner (facing corner) looking at repaired window wall and glass window of some sort. When I asked if we could be moved to another location in place of this very usual seating place we were told no when there was obviously other seating available. Next we were finally attended served chips and chile sauce not even a salsa. Ordering menus spoke highly of the authentic homemade dishes that were far from being authenticly homemade. I had the famous chile Colorado and had to ask for a side salad, my wife had the famous fried tilapia both of us ask for flour tortillas. Long wait ensued that I even had asked for more chips and salsa that never came, mean while salad was served, sadly salad was served with brown lettuce mix with fresh lettuce. Once we received our meals my chile Colorado looked like it was thrown together using more of a stewd tomato sauce than a red pepper sauce chile, pork used was definitely over cooked and more like jerky. My wife's dish tilapia was definitely under cooked. Beans and rice looked like they were made days ago and flour tortillas were definitely not authenticly homemade. In fact they seems to be days old as well. I know that I wrote a lot and I never in my 65 years have had a terrible experience as I encountered at this place. Sadly I have to be honest about my disappointments and I definitely will never walk in or recommend this eatery to any of my friends and family or...
Read moreFrom the start the chips and salsa looked a bit off but I gave it a shot. The chips were warm I’ll give them that but they were stale it hurt my teeth biting into them. The salsa wasn’t hot at first but afterwards you taste a little kick so it wasn’t too bad. The restrooms were an inconvenience to me they are one stall and it’s a hit or miss. You go check to see if it’s occupied leave come back check again otherwise you’re there waiting. I was a bit worried about the food at first because of my experience with the chips and salsa. Wow was that worry blown away when I tasted that menudo. Menudo and pozole are both very complex dishes to make because of the juice and the way the meat is made which is why I usually drift away from ordering either at any restaurant as much as I can unless I’m in the mood for it. Was not disappointed by it in the slightest, I highly recommend getting your menudo here. The shrimp cocktail was also made perfectly. Shrimp not frozen and the amount of shrimp is great. The waitress left me and a man had to step in that was a bit weird to me but that is the least of my concern. They have tough stressful jobs and you are bound to run into things like that in busy restaurants. Drinks are served with crunchy ice !!! I’m an ice chewer so this made me happy Overall great time here 😁😁❤️ (Prices are great) ——my menudo was a small size and the portion was a full...
Read moreVery, very disappointed! I've gone there in the past and loved their food and service. This last time their food was good but their service and attitude was terrible! They offered chips and salsa- which have always been free and then offered a side of beans and guacamole. I assumed it was complimentary, just as the chips and salsa. The waitress didn't bother to specify the guacamole was nearly 7 dollars and the beans were almost 3 dollars with a .50 charge for cheese. We didn't find out until we got the check. We didnt go out of our way to ask, they offered. Don't we get enough hidden fees everywhere else? Now here! I can't express enough... I'm very disappointed. I appreciated the fact that she was willing to fix it by taking off the price of the guacamole but the attitude and her remarks were unacceptable!! I've always raved about this restaurant so I'll be sad to say I'm not going back and I hope others will know not to get lured into the same "hidden fee." I'm hoping they change their attitudes, it's very disappointing to be in a place we're the workers are rude. It doesn't make up for how good...
