Man…I really wanted to like this place. I did like this place. It’s an old timey burger stand. Like the kind you can sit on your tailgate and spend some quality time with cheap eats and good company. The fry shortening was broken down and dirty, so everything just tastes bitter and “burnt.” This was particularly true of the chicken dinner, the bits are of the heavy breaded and peppered frozen variety, if my toddler won’t eat a chicken nugget there’s a serious problem. The burger was “okay” for the price, but it had onion rings on it so again, bitter and “burnt” tasting. Just about everything on the menu is frozen except the buns and salad.
It was very reasonably priced and if the grease and fryers had been changed and filtered and boiled out like they should be I’d give it 4 stars because it’s value and fun to to sit on the tailgate and wolf down some old fashioneds and frozen fried breaded junk food. Btw the fries are the cheapest ones you can buy like grandma would buy in 10lb sacks. You’re lucky if they’re not limp and chewy by the time you open the sack.
I’d say I’d try it again but Tulsa has other greasy burger shacks around that deliver on the American Graffiti experience and this feels...
Read moreLot-a-burger is in an industrial area near gilcrease. They have ample parking and are on a fairly busy street. I went around 2pm, there was several customers coming and going. I ordered #1 combo w/cheese and large banana shake. I got my food within 10 minutes. The fries were warm , the burger patty was hot and the banana shake was 32 ounces. The fries would have been better if they were hot and crispy. The burger was decent and fries was ok, nothing to write home about. The burger did taste similar to a big Mac and the fries would have been like McDonald's if they were hot and crispy. For the price and location; I probably would have went to McDonald's for the same experience. The banana shake was decent, but I'm looking for that banana laffy taffy flavor. Banana flavor was more of an after taste. Great place to go to if you're working at one of the surrounding warehouse. I wouldn't stop if it wasn't...
