My boyfriend and I went into the coffee shop on a Sunday morning, just wanting to pick up some drinks that we could take and enjoy out in the park. You walk in and it's clean and well kept inside. There wasn't really any organization to the shop though; we got in what we thought was a line until we realized that ourselves and a handful of other people were on the wrong side of the register, so we had to start over on the other side. Service at the register could have been better; the cashier simply stood and stared at us when we walked up. We ordered two coffees and a few bagel bites, pay and go sit to wait for the order. We're given one of the little vibrating pucks to keep our place. We're eventually given the bagel bites, but they were rung up wrong so we had to wait for that to be corrected. We then proceed to wait for 15 minutes with no drinks. They were slightly busy, so we figured we'd give them the benefit of the doubt. But when people who came after us are getting their drinks before us, that's a concern. Eventually we go up to the counter and they ask us what we had. I repeat the order and they nod and apologize and tell us we'll get them next. I don't know where the breakdown after that was. I don't know if the barista wasn't told, or if she was and forgot or what but another five minutes go by with us still sitting there with nothing. We are once again asked what we ordered. At this point we're fed up and just ask for a refund. This is another 5 minute ordeal with whoever was managing at that point. She asked what we had and went over to the one functioning register to try to get the money back. But they still have to take customers, so she's waiting in between. She comes back 3-4 times to ask again what we had, and finally takes the card we used to get the proper order. Unsure why that wasn't led with. Either way, if I want to have coffee in the park I'll bring it from...
Read moreThe sandwich got was what I expected but the service was awful. the two girls working behind the counter today when we got our order around 1:25 or so were wilding inattentive and seemed bothered that my daughter and myself were there. As I was trying to check out they continued to talk to one another and i had to break their conversation so I could also let them know that my daughter also wanted some ice cream. The girl that went to get it threw the bag of cups or lids she was holding on the counter like I was interfering. We were not welcomed when we came in, they did not so much as say hello when we went to pay, and then continued to talk to one another as if our service was less important than their gossip. I will not be back to this spot during these hours and will likely turn back around if I do try it again and they are working. That was by far the worst services I’ve ever experienced. While they are teenagers, I’ll give some grace, but they are old enough to know that when someone is spending money in their establishment to take a moment and focus on the customer. I shouldn’t have had to apologize for interrupting a conversation that had nothing to do about work. Spending $10 for a premade sandwich and ice cream should require basic common courtesy with...
Read moreThe employees were very rude, especially 2 of them. They acted like we were stupid and doing something wrong when we were just ordering ice cream. I was being upbeat and positive and trying to be as nice as I could and the response was just so weird. They were just rude. I don’t know if I have ever been treated that way by a server anywhere. We love the Gathering Place and the space there at the cafe is perfect for our large family getting together for a time there. I enjoyed my sweet treat and some of us got some coffee. But my daughter got a salad that was small, $11, and old and wilted and mushy. It had been made 3 days earlier and not refrigerated. That was a big problem! Several of my family got ice cream and they said that it was really tasty. We will go back sometime because of the gathering place and the really great facility that the cafe is in. But sadly, the customer service there...
