New Tokyo Hibachi & Sushi — Restaurant in Tupelo

The worst sushi we've ever had. Poor quality ingredients, poorly executed and dry. The hot pink and sea foam green soy wrappers were visually unappealing and did not add anything positive to the overall poor flavor. The sushi was difficult to finish. I've had grocery store sushi that blows this out of the water. The yum yum sauce was anything but yummy. It tasted like thinned out miracle whip. It also didn't help our feelings that we bought $4 worth of it only for it to be tossed in the trash. The miso and onion soups were overly salty and cold. The best thing we had was the hibachi, and it was mediocre at best. The shrimp was flavorless and barely done. The vegetables were literally swimming in oil. First, be aware that some of the goods reviews are clearly fake accounts. I visited when they first opened and was not impressed, but I decided to give them another chance. This is one of those sushi joints that slathers every roll in sauce in an attempt to hide the poor quality. This time was worse! Based on the menu, I was not expecting high-quality sushi, but they seriously lack flavor. I ordered a couple of standard rolls, thinking they could not mess those up, but they did. Maybe due to hunger, we finally re-focused and saw the actual Japanese restaurant that shares the minimarket-type neon facade with the larger food market there too. impressive menus - beautifully styled and illustrative among of sit down delicious eating in Tokyo.
