Sweet Peppers Deli — Restaurant in Tupelo

Really enjoyed my meal here. The entire service experience was exemplary. I really felt welcomed and it was clear that the staff truly appreciated each patron who comes into the restaurant. It is nice to feel like you (and your dollars) are appreciated.

I had the Bayou Shrimp Flatbread. It was very good. Ample portion of shrimp on crispy, flaky flatbread, covered with a thin layer of cheese and with some tasty sauce on it. It wasn't overly sauced or topping'd, and the shrimp were well-seasoned.

Inside, the restaurant feels fun and inviting. Lots of couples in the restaurant enjoying a date night. A couple of families and other groups, too. Not a place that is suited to only one age range or demographic.

Overall, the service sets this place apart. I didn't know what to expect going in, but left pleasantly surprised and with smile. I even got a free dessert, since it was my first time there. I will be going back again!

Note I forgot to add this to my initial review, but you order at the counter here, and they bring your food out to you. The tip you select when paying for your food before your meal is given back to you in cash, so you don't have to worry about tipping and then the service not meeting your expectations. Also, they do clean your table for you, so you leave your food and plates after your meal and they come by and get it. Tonight I placed an online order for a salad and a sandwich, but when I went to pick it up I realized (to my great embarrassment) that I’d somehow placed the order at the Columbus Peppers and not the Tupelo location. (I’m still confused as to how I did this, as I’ve never even been to Columbus. Admittedly I was in a hurry when ordering.) Thankfully the sweet young lady at the window, Andrea, got her manager Juan, who graciously called the Columbus location and sorted out my mistakes. They were insanely kind and helpful, arranging the cancellation of my first order and fixing my food right there in Tupelo while I waited. I cannot brag enough about the service I experienced here. (Plus, the food was delicious!) I’ve worked in retail and in food service before, so I know what a headache I must have caused them, and just an hour before closing time, too! The food was great! Tasted fresh and came out quick. The service was okay. The server was busy talking when she was supposed to be bringing the sour cream to the table. Other than that, it was good.

Our most recent visit deserves 5 stars. The food and service were both excellent. We had a potato, a flatbread, chili, a salad, and the chicken quesadilla. The waitress was very nice and our food was hot and fresh.

We returned today on 11/2/2024. The service and food was great. We had the BBQ chicken flatbread, rotel and chips, loaded baked potato, a garden salad, crawfish bisque, and Mediterranean chicken sandwich.

Today I ordered the Mediterranean chicken panini and a cup of potato soup. Y’all really could fill this little container up more than half way. There’s no way this was a cup of soup. Please stop charging for the soup for a side if you are going to...
