Scarlet's Donuts — Restaurant in Tupelo

The doughnuts are absolutely the best. I would give the doughnuts a 5-star rating. But, service is important. The last time I was there, well before closing time, there was little from which to choose. Tonight, I was there about 5:45. Lights were out, but the sign said business hours are from 6:00 AM to 6 PM. Since I had made a special trip, I decided to go through the drive-thru to check on the status. I had trouble getting attention. When, I tapped on the glass, a man came to the window. He wasn’t happy to see me and told me they had sold out at 5:15 — that was why the lights were out. I did suppose if the lights were out, they were closed. But, I have seen businesses where staff forgot to ever turn on lights at night, especially if it’s still dusky dark. The general attitude left me feeling as if I wasn’t welcomed — that I was an intrusion even though I was there within the business hours they advertise. Operating by cutting inventory short of what is needed and closing early may work to the financial advantage of the owner, but it’s not to the advantage of customers to be unaware that the advertised business hours are not the real business hours. We left Tupelo on our way to Graceland. But we didn’t had our morning coffee and we also needed to eat something small…The name of this store got my attention and we drove back. This was the best thing we could do!

Two lovely ladies welcomed us in the store and we explained that we’re visiting from Europe. Before I knew I was tasting the best donut I ever tasted…I didn’t know where to look and I just wanted to taste it all! Unfortunately this was no option, because we needed to go forward on our journey to Graceland.

idk if this woman was new or what, but first of all she was going SUPER SLOW w my order that she had already gotten wrong the first time. second of all she was manhandling my donuts, squeezing them into the box. it almost seemed on purpose. i told another worker that i was in a rush and she ignored me and proceeded to the customer BEHIND ME. my food also came in the 1/2 dozen box instead of the dozen box, which the dozen box is the main reason i choose scarlettts because they all lay flat and don’t get messed up. though mine already are from her manhandling them. this is not the first issue i’ve had at this location either. do better. used...
