Taqueria El Lugar — Restaurant in Tyler

There was only one person at the front. He was mopping and moving the rubber floor mats. When he finally decided to attend to the register, he rinsed his hands and came to the register and took my order.

He then proceeded to prepare my order, and he NEVER washed his hands.

The food quality was horrible. The taco meats were all over cooked. THERE WERE NO SEASONINGS WHATSOEVER on the meat; just tasteless overcooked meat with onions and cilantro. There were no lemons included in the bag with my order.

If I had dined in, I would have asked for a refund a re-do of my order, but I was 11 miles away (one way), and I was not about to be in traffic for 24 minutes (one way).

To top the horrible experience off, when I opened my bags, I found the tacos and my soup, but I did NOT receive my agua de horchata drink.

When I called the store, the guy told me that he remembers me and acknowledged that he forgot the agua de horchata. He stated that he would leave my name at the front register so I could go back the next day and pick up my drink that I paid for, but if course, he could not process a refund.

So I've been to this place before and the food does taste good. The horrible thing about particular location is there customer service. They either never answer the phone or is always busy. This time, I was trying to place a large phone order but was put on hold for over 10 minutes, then they hangs up on me. I call back, she hangs up again when I say I'm trying to place a calling order. I call back AGAIN because I need to place a large order. It's the same young lady that answers and I tell her what previously transpired. She then proceeded to tell me angrily that I'm not the only person who's trying to place an order. I advise I understood that but with over 10 minutes and multiple calls, I should be able to place my order as well that would have been well over $100. I even apologize that she was having a frustrating time. Her answer to that was to try to put me on hold again. The people at my office love these tacos and it's so out of the way to go to the one off of 5th Street, but it doesn't look like the one on Gentry Pkwy neither want or need the business. They really need better help and/or better training for to avoid missing out on...

I have been going here for the past 4 years almost every Friday, we usually pick up through the drive thru, well 2 weeks ago we decided to go in and the coustomer service was horrible, I asked nicely to the server if she could please exchange my mango water because it wasn't good, she yelled at me in front of so many other coustomers she said why if you already took a sip of it I told exactly that's how I know it's not good she was soooo rude and didn't have to yell at me it was embarrassing,we exchange for Agua de orchata and it didn't taste good either I also told them about it and another server said oh your not the first person to complain about it, when I told the cashier which I know is realated to the owner she just said sorry I could tell she didn't mean it. We ended drinking fountain drinks she should of giving us the money back for the orchata and mango waters and charge us for the fountain drinks because we all know the waters are so expensive but they didn't horrible, horrible experience never going back I can't believe the lady screaming and being rude to coustomers is...
